Kristen Stewart: “I just wanted something in my mouth”

Earlier this week, actress Kristen Stewart stopped by Conan O’Brien’s late night show to promote the release of the blockbuster teen-vampire drama The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2. While discussing the changes her character Bella undergoes in this final installment of the Twilight Saga, Stewart also awkwardly let O’Brien know that she has recently quit smoking. Stewart said smoking was a habit she only partook in because: “I just wanted something in my mouth.” Stewart and a large majority of the Twilight cast—excluding health-nut co-star Taylor Lautner—were publicly ridiculed in 2009 when photos of them indulging in lengthy smoke breaks on the set of The Twilight Saga: New Moon were released on the Internet. But Stewart says she successfully kicked her habit and has reportedly even helped her longtime boyfriend and Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson quit smoking as well. Stewart later told O’Brien that when it came to smoking, she considered herself “a bit of a faker…a circumstantial smoker,” adding, “I just felt like I wasn’t addicted to nicotine.” ~Brandon Bastaldo
