Labor Day to open the box office this weekend

Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin will be sizzling on the big screen this weekend in Labor Day. Set for a wide release today, the two critically acclaimed actors star as an unlikely pair who come together after Frank (Brolin) forces himself into the home of Adele (Winslet) and her teenage son. His initially unwelcome stay soon develops into something more and secrets from his criminal past are revealed. Labor Day promises drama, romance and unexpected twists! Another wide release today is That Awkward Moment, a rom-com starring Zac Efron, Miles Teller and Michael B. Jordan. The hilarious trio promise each other to steer clear from the dating scene after Mikey’s (Jordan) heart gets broken, but their plan doesn’t follow through. Head over to your local theatre this weekend to find out why! Opening in limited release today is Visitors, a documentary that captures the image of modern life and the relationship between humans and technology. This eye-opening film opens today in Toronto and Montreal. Another limited release is Rhymes For Young Ghouls, the story of a teenage girl’s role in a drug trafficking circle and the consequences she has to face when she is unexpectedly kicked out. Filmed in Quebec, this drama opens today in Toronto and February 14 in Vancouver. ~Yara Matar
