Pop star Lady Gaga has cited the photo of her on the cover of Glamour Magazine as being too beautiful at the Women of the Year awards in New York. She also felt 16-year-old Pakistani education activist Malala Yousafzai, who was attacked by the Taliban last year, should have been on the cover. “Who really belongs on the cover is not me. If I could forfeit my Glamour cover, I would give it to Malala,” she said of fellow Glamour honoree. “You’re so inspiring, so young and so brilliant.” Gaga went on to express her concerns about the cover: “Malala used her voice, so I’m going to use mine … The picture, which I’m very grateful for and very happy to be on this cover, I felt it was too beautiful. I felt my skin looked too perfect, and my hair looked too soft. This is not usually how I dress or how I carry myself.”
While speaking to an audience that included fellow honorees Barbra Streisand and Kerry Washington, Gaga added:”I believe my true mission is to inspire young people to fight back against forces that make them feel like they’re not beautiful or important,” she said. “I do not look like this when I wake up in the morning.” ~Raj-Kabir Birk

Lady Gaga delivers a radiant performance alongside co-star and director Bradley Cooper. The film nominated for eights Oscar is now available on DVD and Blu-ray.
Oh yes, since that other picture of you shown above is how you REALLY look.
I admire your thinking. I wish more young women felt confident in their own bodies. My daughter struggles with anorexia and depression. We, as a family, are very close and supporting her in every way that we can to overcome the debilitating lack of self esteem.
Way to go Lady Gaga.Use this voice wisely!
It is admirable of her to admit she’s not beautiful.
Glamour Magazine really didn’t do a good job. The picture on the magazine cover does not look at all like Lady Gaga.
I don’t think she looks beautiful on the cover.
Was not a big fan of GaGa’s until her STERN SHOW interview/performance. She is a very well spoken young woman with an absolutely incredible voice who has a rare grasp of human nature. Anyone who knows this about her, understands what she was saying and should agree that she is very beautiful…in many many ways
Yet another example of the media being too stupid to get it…
The title of this story makes Lady Gaga sound like an ass, but then you read the article and see that the essence behind the story is not quite as the title reads. I think what someone here is missing is that Lady Gaga is saying that she ISN’T that beautiful but that the cover of Glamour made her so–isn’t that the purpose of magazine covers for these types of mags? Either way, and whether you like her or not, Lady Gaga stands for something that people like Britney Spears and other influential artists should be standing behind as well.
I think she was trying to express that Glamour magazine photo-shopped the hell out of her true photo. But, like every other magazine, they photo-shop everyone, even supermodels. Her message is a bit mixed up, because they would have photo-shopped Malala too, so I’m not sure I get her point.
Huh? Sorry, but not in this lifetime.
Well, if this is the way she feels, why did she do the cover for “Glamour”? I think she is one of the biggest egos in show business and not nearly as beautiful as she thinks.
Hm, first don’t you have to have a face that’s cute before we take the leap to beautiful?
