Lady Gaga protests Donald Trump’s presidential win

By Tribute on November 9, 2016 | 41 Comments

Lady GagaLady Gaga is displeased with the U.S. election results and she’s taking action to demonstrate it.

The “Born This Way” singer stepped out in the early hours of Wednesday, Nov. 9 to protest Donald Trump‘s win over Hillary Clinton, whom she has ardently supported throughout the Democrat’s campaign.

Standing outside New York City’s Trump Tower, Gaga was perched on the side of a sanitation truck as she held a “Love trumps hate” sign.

Her bold protest came hours after she took to Twitter on the night of Tuesday, Nov. 8 to share a photo she had taken with Black Lives Matter activist DeRay Mckesson. Although she felt defeated by Donald’s victory, she accompanied the photo with some encouraging words.

Her caption reads, “In a room full of hope, we will be heard. Stand up for kindness, equality, and love. Nothing will stop us. Say a prayer for America.”

Gaga also changed her Twitter handle to #CountryOfKindess in the wake of Donald’s triumph.

Earlier this week, Gaga attended one of Hillary’s rallies where she championed the Democrat.

She said, “She has a career in politics that spans decades of experience, education, leadership, and wisdom. She’s ready to be president. She kept going and she kept fighting for women’s rights. She kept fighting for the care of our children. She kept fighting for those that are in need.”

Check out Gaga’s Instagram post below.

What do you think of her protest? Do you agree with her position on the election results? Share your thoughts with us! ~Matthew Pariselli

GaGa shut up because your music sucks !!!

  2. Gail • November 9, 2016 @ 2:36 PM

It’s people like Lee that don’t make America Great again. Please say some prayers for him.
He needs them. This will not be the last of Hillary Clinton, Thank God for her and her
peaceful and positive energy. Thank God I live in Canada. Hillary, the system is
rigged because Trump supposedly won. Unbelievable. I will pray for the U.S. for the next
four years or until Trump is impeached.

I’m a 67 yr. of age Canadian and believe totaly in what Miss ( LADY GAGA ) views & issues towards that ( BASTARD ) – Donald Trump – (I have NO respect for it) Someone must speak up for the rest of the Citizens of the United States of America – U.S.A. , eh ? Miss Hillary was our best shot in making a great differance in the way we all live as equals – helping each other out of poverty & homelessness etc… I sure wouldn’t get two cents for the future of this very ( E V I L ) – ASSHOLE !

  4. Ewan • November 9, 2016 @ 4:04 PM

Agreed, Gail and David. America had a shot at something great when Hillary won the Democratic nomination. They’ve squandered that opportunity in favor of turning the clocks back by voting in Trump. Appalling, disheartening and deeply frightening. Gaga has every right to protest what is absolutely a shameful election result.

  5. Nolan • November 9, 2016 @ 5:46 PM

This is very scary. I’m thinking very seriously about checking out early. Best of luck. Peace.

everyone light your torches bring the pitch forks it’s go time in the USA. It’s go time for the Civil War Sequel. The first Civil war back in the 4 straight years of April 12 1861 until April 9 1865 fought between the southern and the northern states people were angry then and approx 700,000 soldiers died between both sides.
Nov 9 2016 begins Civil War Sequel: Hillary VS Trump now for the next 4 years it’s the hillary supporters vs trump supporters. fight bravely fight strong and maybe just maybe no soldier will die

  7. miranda • November 10, 2016 @ 5:06 AM

Am I reading this right? Is Nolan contemplating suicide?

  8. Brock Lee • November 10, 2016 @ 7:32 AM

drain the swamp and take Lady GoGo with it

  9. Danny • November 10, 2016 @ 8:13 AM

I don’t get these demonstrators. Say what you will about Trump but the election result is the election result. I’m all for peaceful protest but all the protests in the past were about nuclear arms, civil rights movement and any other time when the people felt they needed a speak on an issue. But America, you VOTED; the people have spoken. Instead of being the sore loser, or jumping on the bandwagon because your favorite celebrity said we should protest, why not be the bigger person and do what both President Obama and Hillary Clinton have suggested and give the man a chance? If time proves that he is abusing his power, then protest. I know people are angry now and that is okay but this is a critical time when we cannot let our emotions get the better of us and work on towards healing and unifying the nation.

  10. mike hunt • November 10, 2016 @ 11:22 AM

Can’t believe what sore losers there are doing.\And it seems like the biggest whiners, are the wealthiest entertainers.

Maybe if they figred out how tough life is for the Americans who do not have te income they enjoy, they would keep their negativity to themselves,a nd their sef-ubsessed buddies.

And, perhpas the muzzies who are afraid of what is coming, should reflect on what their beliefs really mean to the average American, who shouldn’t have to step on eggshells to risk offending them.
There is a real fear of Islamic extremists among anyone who reads and processes world news.
And anyone who isn’t oblivious to world news, cn see how mny problems Islamic refugees are causing in Europe and other countries with mass immigration of muslims.Ever since 9-11, there has been a mistrust of muslims that isn’t going away, until these people prove that they are capable f evolving, and living peacefully in a modern country- free of sharia type beliefs ( chld marriages, beating women, wearing cover-ups in public – insulting to the men in our society who muslims seem to believe cannot control their testoserone urges upon the sight of a bare head or face)

Sorry crybabies- your hero lost. Get over it – You can’t always get what you want.

  11. mike hunt • November 10, 2016 @ 12:18 PM

If Gaga is so into loving- how about she take a tour of some of the poor neighborhoods in her hometown, and do something positive to help out those who aren’t as talented and resourceful as she is. Not everyone has an equal chance in life. Charity begins at home. And she can obviously afford to do more than take the odd photo to express her moral superiority.
Seems like she is just looking for another opportunit to cash in on her celebrity status, more than what she is “protesting”
Is she worried about losing some of her wealth and status, seeing as how all the deplorables her hero spoke of, have had their voices heard?

  12. Georges • November 10, 2016 @ 1:23 PM

Listen. The people have voted in a fair, first past the post in each state, electoral votes.
The voting system is not the best, but has worked for hundreds of years … until a new system is devised This is how our country runs…
so give the guy a chance before protesting… don’t be a sore loser. Instead unite ( yeah I know he is bigot etc … )
But that’s life, nobody is perfect!

  13. Aj • November 10, 2016 @ 1:29 PM

As a Canadian, I am relieved for my neighbour to the south. You have voted well. I will pray Lady Gaga’s eyes will be open to this truth. And all the others in Hollywood who are blinded to the truth. I believe Trump is the right choice for this age. All the best.

  14. Vanessa • November 10, 2016 @ 1:43 PM

Danny, so well-put. I feel the exact same way, as a Canadian.

  15. Vonnie • November 10, 2016 @ 2:35 PM

    I agree with Lady Gaga

-as a Canadian, I must say, his hate, deviceness, bullying, disrespect for women
and culture is unheard of….Is he going to bankrucpt the USA like he did with
his companies?…this reminds me of a 3rd world country or a dictatorship country

-this guy – depends on where he goes – tells the people different stories and make different promises – he told them what they wanted to hear–and they bought
it…..sad…this is not a reality tv show

-what is going to happen to all the lawsuits against him?

-Finally, the way the poles and the voting went down, is anyone checking to see if the voting machines were hacked in his favour. After all, he did call for the hacking of Hilary’s Emails, and it happened….very strange…sad too

    America -you may your bad….

  17. Lena • November 10, 2016 @ 3:12 PM

When I read last week in the paper what Madonna would do( use your imagination here) for any man who would vote for Hillary, I thought, lady you and all your celebrity buddies are mentally unstable. President Trump elect is not a perfect man but neither is Hillary. The people made the best choice. Do you really think that everyone was happy with the last election in 2012? No they were not, but they did not carry on like a bunch of sore looser’s. No. Get over yourself importance. Accept the fact that other people have a right to think for themselves.

  18. Terry • November 10, 2016 @ 4:39 PM

Trump is the best person at this time for America. I don’t think either one is best suited for the job , only one can be President and thank God it is Trump. Clinton on the other hand and her brainwashed followers don’t even realize or they do and they ignore the truths. She is an evil, corrupt, lying bitch who thinks she is above the law. Just look at the crimes she has committed with her loser husband over the last 30 years. The Clintons are a crime family, plain and simple along with the Bushes. Take the time to look into their history you morons. I pray that Trump follows up on his promise to drain the swamp to put her and her husbands sorry asses is jail with the rest of the criminal elites that have been corrupting the world for the last 100 yeas.

  19. Kevin • November 10, 2016 @ 4:52 PM

It’s your system live with it or come to Canada where your vote won’t count

  20. LaBeef • November 10, 2016 @ 4:55 PM

    HOW DID THIS HAPPEN

  21. Terry • November 10, 2016 @ 5:05 PM

Hey Lady Gag Gag you should put one in your mouth and just shut the hell up. Why don’t you go cry at one of your satanic parties you frequent and do some spirt cooking with your sick, loser friend Mariana Abramovic. You can meet up with Hillary then the two of you can swap some recipe’s while you pray to Lucifer.

  22. marie • November 10, 2016 @ 5:31 PM

I’m so proud that I am a Canadian!
I couldn’t believe the results. I have been following the election since May 2015 DONALD TRUMP, GIVE ME A BREAK.. WHAT A LOW LIFE ————–
THE AMERICANS MUST BE HANGING THEIR HEADS M SHAME ON YOU….ELECTING TRUMP WHAT A LAUGH. Yeah for all the Americans that are protesting… keep it up

Hey Terry the only Lucifer that Hillary will meet up with is Donald Trump

  23. marie • November 10, 2016 @ 5:41 PM

Something else I wanted to say

Very bazar that the republicans email weren’t hacked
I believe something smells in the Presidential Election, Maybe the world has changed for the worst .Donald Trumps swamp are a different breed.

Putin and Trump deserve each other…Funny how Putin responded so quickly, I almost believe that the Republicans new way before the results were in that Trump was elected…OMG I still can’t believe the result…COM’ON

  24. Walt • November 10, 2016 @ 5:51 PM

    Vonnie
Opinions are like buses, there’s a new one every few minutes….but when you play fast and loose with the facts…that’s something else.
Hate? An easy way to attempt to shut down dialogue…label someone with the ‘hate’ smear.
As another Canadian, I don’t want my American neighbours to think your post represents all Canadians.
I personally disagree with ‘lady’ Gaga, vehemently! I defend her ‘right’ to feel whatever she claims to feel, as well as her right to express it, however childish I might think it makes her look. What I DON’T get is why she thinks anyone should CARE what she thinks…as if her fame and money somehow makes her “opinions” more valuable than anyone else’s. Given her public stage behaviour and theatrics, I’m not sure she’s qualified to be judging anyone.
“Bankrupt the USA? Go look up the American National debt in 2008… and then again in 2016…and we can talk about who’s bankrupting who.
“Deviceness”? I assume you mean Divisiveness. All we have to do is look at race relations in 2008…and now…to see that a president who claimed to want to heal rifts, to bring people together…and a black at that…and we see an America more racially divided perhaps than it was when I was young, more than half a century ago.

    “3rd world…or dictatorship country?”
Perhaps you need to spend time in some of those countries…so you can discern the difference? We’re looking at a peaceful transition of power…between two diametrically opposed parties. What violence we’ve seen is from “sour grape” Democrats/supporters..rioting…burning cars..vandalizing…breaking windows, etc.
During the campaign, we didn’t hear of Trump supporters disrupting Clinton rallies..we heard of multiple Trump rallies being disrupted by paid provocateurs…hired by organizations paid by the Dems. Not to mention the hatchet job on Sanders.

“He called for the hacking of Hillary’s emails…”? Really??? MY recollection is that he called for whoever had ALREADY hacked her server (I understand that they figure from 5-7 groups hacked into it) to release them. That’s a far cry from what you are claiming.

You are obviously trying to make political points here…but by misrepresenting ‘facts’…and fabricating non-existent evidence, it diminishes any point you’re trying to make.”Very strange. Sad too!”

  25. j_blue • November 10, 2016 @ 7:06 PM

    Good comment,Lee!
    Totally with you, buddy!
America, you’ve got the right one, baby!
    Uh-ha!

  26. Terry • November 10, 2016 @ 7:30 PM

Hey Marie why don’t you do a history lesson on the Clinton, Bushes and their circle of friends maybe you might learn something. Walt good call brother.

  27. naomi • November 10, 2016 @ 8:49 PM

Drain that swamp right away and take all those Hollywood entertainers with the sludge. Sick and tired of them trying to tell us how to live our lives.

  28. Kat • November 10, 2016 @ 9:38 PM

Just reading the posts. Wow. Terry’s post are particularly angry, rude and immature. Clearly makes sense why he supports a bully like Trump. I guess no one is allowed to have their own opinion, even on a discussion board. Sad.

  29. marie • November 10, 2016 @ 10:00 PM

hey thanks Terry for your advise…but lets see……..Trump has so many upstanding qualities and his morals wow what can I say???

  30. Francis Lachance • November 11, 2016 @ 7:04 AM

The real gang of Deplorables are the douche bag actors and singers who live on easy street and want a president to protects their perverted life tyles. Trumps should deport all of them.

  31. Jin • November 11, 2016 @ 11:22 AM

Kat – Please note that as a Trump supporter, I don’t think Terry’s comments speak for all of us. While I understand his sentiment (him being happy that Trump won), some of us choose our words differently.

It’s a bit ironic that you find it so sad that we cannot express our opinion on a simple discussion board, because that’s how we felt this entire election. Have you ever wondered why Trump won the election when polls favoured Hillary? It is because of people like you who rub your nose condescendingly and quickly paint all Trump voters with a broad brush. Like you said in your post, you read the vulgarities in Terry’s language and CLEARLY deduced that because he’s a Trump supporter he’s all for bullies. In the same vein if anyone said they were voting Trump, they would automatically be labelled a bigot or a racist. So you would understand that if someone asked a Trump supporter who they were voting for that they would say ‘Hillary’ or ‘undecided’ but then actually vote Trump.

Having said that, I’ll give the benefit of the doubt by saying that hopefully not all Hillary voters feel the same way about us like you do. Nevertheless it’s because of the broad brush that we have all been painted with that I can at least understand why Terry may seem so angry.

  32. Bob71 • November 11, 2016 @ 2:14 PM

    Nolan, are you still there?

  33. Nana • November 11, 2016 @ 2:59 PM

    Hello Gaga,

    This is Nana from Canadada!!!

Please stay where you are and all your celebrity buddies too!

Do you think we welcome most of you overpaid tax evading peons here?

Hail Trump!!! He just might be your best President ever… USA

  34. Annie • November 12, 2016 @ 4:08 PM

I am very worried about Nolan. Where are you? Please take heart and believe that this, too, shall pass.

  35. Vonnie • November 12, 2016 @ 5:44 PM

    Hi Walt:

-straight out of university – and law school- I dedicated 8 years of my life
volunteering in – exactly- 3rd world countries- maybe you should try it
-I dedicated my time helping young women, familes, children because of the
the exact principles that Trump is proposing …and it is not short of being
a dictator….he thinks he has all the answers to the problems….he does not
-except for the people sho supported him, how is he going to work with the rest
after demeaning them, name calling, and he is clueless about running a country

-love Trumps Hate……and….how do you like the fact that he is now taking
pages out of Obama.s book on Healthcare ….thank God, healthcare is free
in my country—I feel sorry for the families who will be affected by whatever
    plans he has for healthcare

-the world is watching and waiting to see if the wall will be built in 100 days
    after he is the president——

-Walt, have you seen what is now happening in the schools….kids acting out
because of Trumps campaign words–all the bullying, hateful words ..what do you
    thing?

I wonder how quickly the jobs are going to start popping up???

-and what do you think about taxes benefiting the rich and loop holes
to protect people like Trump—who has not paid taxes to help his country

sleep on it ——you bought into his promises…..he is changing them by the minute now…..he is not going to “drain the swamp” same old same old

good luck—–I give it a couple years, if that, before you see the real Trump
or will you be brave enough…then…to admit he pulled the wool over your eyes

I wish you good luck – and remember “Love Trumps Hate”

    Peace

    V
