Sony Masterworks recording artist Ramin Karimloo has returned to Toronto to star as Jean Valjean in the Toronto premiere of Cameron Mackintosh’s acclaimed new production of Boublil & Schönberg’s legendary musical Les Misérables. Featuring glorious new staging and dazzlingly re-imagined scenery inspired by the paintings of Victor Hugo, the production begins its limited engagement at the Princess of Wales Theatre September 27.  Ramin’s debut CD Human Heart, which originally released last year, is now available for download with two specially added exclusive Les Misérables bonus tracks.

Human Heart includes songs Ramin performed onstage in his leading roles, including “Bring Him Home” and “I Dreamed A Dream” from Les Misérables; “Till I Hear You Sing” from Love Never Dies and “Music of the Night” from The Phantom of the Opera. The album also features tracks written by some of contemporary music’s biggest writers including Greg Wells, Don Mescall, Ryan Tedder, and Duncan Sheik and Steve Sater. Ramin also co-wrote four new songs for the album and in his own distinctive style covers songs by Muse, indie favorite Jay Clifford and Bryan Adams.

Iranian-born, Canadian actor Ramin garnered critical acclaim for his performance in the West End production of The Phantom of the Opera. He  performed alongside Colm Wilkinson in both anniversary productions of Les Misérables and The Phantom of the Opera. He recently starred in the PBS broadcast of The Phantom of the Opera 25th Anniversary Concert at The Royal Albert Hall and with Nick Jonas in the Les Misérables 25th Anniversary Concert. He has appeared in London’s West End in many leading roles, including originating the starring role in The Phantom of the Opera sequel Love Never Dies.  Ramin is the youngest actor to portray the Phantom and received a nomination for the prestigious Olivier Award (British equivalent of the Tony Award), been recognized as the favorite leading man to perform in London’s West End Musical Theatre by whatsonstage.com, and won the award for the 2011 Best Actor category for the prestigious Viewers’ Choice Theater Awards at Whatsonstage.com.
