Lost star says Matthew Fox beats women

By Tribute on May 31, 2012 | 31 Comments

It may have been two years since Lost went off the air but cast member Dominic Monaghan isn’t looking at his time with co-star Matthew Fox through rose-colored glasses. On Sunday, the Lord of the Rings actor unleashed a firestorm of pent-up aggression on his former co-star, accusing him of being a woman beater. It all started on Twitter when a fan asked Monaghan to persuade Fox to launch a Twitter account of his own, prompting the actor to respond with a succinct, “He beats women, no thanks.” The fan was shocked by his tweet, writing back in all caps: “I KNOW IT WAS WRONG BUT WHAT ABOUT ALL THOSE GOOD TIMES YOU HAD TOGETHER?!” He replied: “How do you know we ever did? You don’t know either of us. He beats women, not isolated incidents. Often. Not interested.” This wouldn’t be the first time Fox was accused of such an act. In 2011, he was detained by police after he drunkenly punched a female bus driver repeatedly when she refused to let him board a private party bus. No charges were filed.  ~Kyle Sharp

If this is true, what a freaking piece of $hit. I hope somebody beats the crap out of him.

  2. David • May 31, 2012 @ 10:38 AM

Yes, it if is true they should tie him up and allow women to line up and take a few shots.

  3. nadine • May 31, 2012 @ 10:41 AM

    slime

  4. nadine • May 31, 2012 @ 10:42 AM

slime…can’t beleive what stars think they can get away with!!

  5. Dee • May 31, 2012 @ 11:30 AM

I am so disappointed to hear this, and hope it’s not true… loved Lost and am a big fan of Matthew Fox.

  6. Ginette • May 31, 2012 @ 11:57 AM

I would like to volunteer to be the first one in that lineup of women to beat the living daylight out of him.I’ll make sure to call all my female friends too. What a piece of $hit.I believe in what goes around, comes around…one day he’ll get a taste of his own medicine:hopefully by a very large, well endowed gay black man in jail who happens to really love women….crossing my fingers.

  7. Michael • May 31, 2012 @ 1:10 PM

Does this big gay prisoner NEED to be black???

  8. Sol • May 31, 2012 @ 1:29 PM

So wait a minute – are some of you people saying that Matthew Fox DESERVES A BEATING because of something he did? Following that logic, it seems conceivable that the women Matthew Fox was beating might have had it coming too, right? I mean, you kinda need to choose whether you’re for or against beating PEOPLE (men or women alike) don’t you? Hell, we’ve got Ginette here actually advocating rape, so apparently some people DESERVE getting raped too?

  9. SERENA • May 31, 2012 @ 1:41 PM

OMG! ANY MAN WHO BEATS A WOMEN WETHER IT BE PHYSICALLY, EMOTIONALLY OR MENTALLY SHOULD BE SHOT IN THE KNEE CAPS AND ELBOWS SO HE IS TOTALLY HELPLESS AND THEN BEATEN BY A BUNCH OF WOMEN. THAT’S WHAT IT FEELS LIKE WHEN A MAN BEATS A WOMAN. TAKE IT FROM ME I KNOW BECAUSE I AM A SURVIVOR!!!!! IF YOUR A VICTIM HELP IS OUT THERE. YOU DESERVED TO ME LOVED AND CHERRISHED. DON’T LET ANYONE EVER BRING YOU DOWN!!!

  10. Sol • May 31, 2012 @ 2:14 PM

Serena, I’m very sorry that you were abused – there’s no excuse for it – at the same time we have a criminal justice system for a reason, and our society would be even more violent than it already is if we condoned the kind of vengeance you speak of.

If guilty, Matthew Fox should be charged and sent to jail, not shot or gang-beaten or anything like that.

  11. Bill • May 31, 2012 @ 2:29 PM

What goes around comes around. My moms boyfriend, a drunk piece of crap, beat her, hit me, started when I was 13. At 16 I beat him to a pulp, my mom was mad at me? He’s dead and I’m 61 now. woman beaters will get theirs!

  12. Priscilla • May 31, 2012 @ 3:12 PM

I’m a survivor too of various forms of abuse and yeah I see the whoe going throught he legal system argu, ent, but it’s a joke. most people get off with a slap on the wrist at best. You have to kill someone to get a bigger sentence and even then that’s no gurantee.

I agree with eye for an eye and karma. If you dish that sort of crap out there you deserve to get it bsack ten fold.

If Mr. Fox is indeed an abuser then I am pretty damn disgusted as a (former) fan. There’s no way that Monaghan would have said that stuff if it wasn’t true, because he’d have gotten sued in a minute! So I am pretty disgusted that Fox is out there and has this kind of attitude and behaviour to not only women, but society as a whole… No one should have all that fame, money and respect when he can’t control his anger and issues. See a shrink, do some boxing or kick boxing and channel your emotions logically and responsibly you’re a grown ass man!

  13. Dee • May 31, 2012 @ 3:25 PM

You’re condemning the man before there is any solid proof of wrong-doing… Don’t be so quick to believe the negative.. and if he did this terrible physical abuse, maybe he needs some help as well… I have been on the receiving end of abuse, as well, but it got worked out as soon as alcohol was taken out of the equation.

  14. Sherrie Webber • May 31, 2012 @ 3:25 PM

First off, love how Dominic pointed out to the fan that they don’t know either of the actors. Being a fan is one thing, but you can’t assume to know about them personally, based simply on the fact that you had watched them on a show or in films. Secondly, I have a lot of respect for Dominic as a human being and a MAN seeing as he apparently has good values and morals (then again, he could be bad, I HAVE NEVER MET HIM)

Finally : IT DOES NOT surprise me that Matthew Fox is like that! In fact I’m pretty sure at one point my bf had said he came off as an egotistical douchebag who probably beats women! And he probably gets off on it as it makes BOYS like that feel powerful, and because most men would beat him down if he tried to pull that sort of power tripping on him. What I wish, is for these mousy scared women to come forward and charge him. They are either too scared, too messed up or he is having his people pay them off! HE SHOULD BE CHARGED! And I’ll tell you one thing, if he ever pulled that crap on me, I would kick the living bleep outta him. I may be a woman, but I’m a fighter, I would not take that! Like I said, charge him or someone please, and I’m speaking to the women, hit him back, SELF DEFENSE. No guns, that’s murder or attempted, don’t be stupid, be smart.

I’ve heard of rumours that he hit women. Quite frankly, I’ve started to lose faith in the justice system. Not that I advocate going out and getting justice done yourself, but I don’t have faith in the justice system either. I don’t condone nor condemn violence. I do believe if you have to defend yourself then do so. Being completely against violence, not even defending yourself, is asking to be a victim because you’ll always be seen by others as weak. Being for violence at all times and using it is asking for karma to kick you in the teeth later on. As someone said, “what goes around comes around.” Those who live by violence die by it. Those who roll over meekly are tread upon by a-holes who think you’re an easy mark. Defend yourself, but don’t go looking for trouble. As for Fox, any man who’d lay a hand on a woman deserves to have karma kick them in the teeth… and it will, in its own way.

  16. Mike • May 31, 2012 @ 5:56 PM

    1. Dominic should not mud sling. No charges, no one has come forward, etc. If what Dominic says is true, he should say something to the proper authorities. AND as you can see, he touched alot of raw nerves and emotions in people stirring up wounds.
    2. It is a complicated “discussion” when no evidence as of yet as been put forward other than a “Hobbit” who has done a video of beating women and made money and fame off of it. I admire how SOL put it in perspective that if we want the same thing visited on Fox, then aren’t we the same as him?
    3. I also like what SHERRIE said challenging the “maybe” women to step up, but if it is true, then some compassion and understanding needs to be given them if they do not. It is an intimidating process that is emotionally overwhelming and sadly expensive.
    4. And the principle is quite true… “we reap what we sow.”

  17. bob • May 31, 2012 @ 6:23 PM

How do you know these women weren’t douchebags who deserved a smackdown. And why isn’t Chris Brown one of the most hated guys. Women are as equal as men.some stronger then men. Some with bodybuilder’s muscles packing on 2x the weight class and punch…dont kid yourselves, women can be threatening. not just vulnerable and weak all the time.

  18. Carol • May 31, 2012 @ 6:41 PM

People, read what Sol has to say. Common sense and calm must prevail. Do we all want to act like animals?
    Thanks, Sol.

  19. Carrie Forrester • May 31, 2012 @ 6:54 PM

The only justification for a man to hit a woman is if the man is in a life or death situation by said woman and he is defending himself. If the woman is just beaking off to a man and he just hauls off and hits her that’s no excuse to do so.

  20. likeit1 • May 31, 2012 @ 7:52 PM

    De nut him

  21. Debbie M • May 31, 2012 @ 7:54 PM

I will be in that line up to beat the daylights out of him. i hate abusers but i do not want him tied up i am a 3rd degree black belt i will take him on with my bare hands. and play volleyball with his head. tell him to bring it on he has met his match.

  22. Debbie M • May 31, 2012 @ 7:58 PM

sol too many men get off and the justice system does nothing to protect women from abusers. we have to protect ourselves and rather they deserved it or not is not the point. if the s.o.b took a swing at me i would finish him plain and simple and as far as vigilante justice goes if the law will not protect us which it does not do these days we need to protect ourselves it is a simple as that.

  23. Debbie M • May 31, 2012 @ 8:00 PM

bob your right i am no featherweight and oh yeah you better believe I can hold my own i hate women who beat their men as much as I hate men that beat women abuse is abuse it comes in many forms from both men and women.

  24. Debbie M • May 31, 2012 @ 8:01 PM

and both are in the wrong.

  25. mandee • May 31, 2012 @ 8:10 PM

Ginette on May 31, 2012 11:57 AM after your RACIST and DISGUSTING comment, i refused to read any other comments on this post. thanks for that.

if he does beat women, he deserves to know what it feels like and he deserves exactly what he did to them.

  26. Rita • June 1, 2012 @ 4:05 AM

I’m not talking about abuse here. I’m talking about accidental death caused by someoone else. Here where I live the justice system only gave 4 years for the death of someone. They had the nerve to say that now that he/she got 4 yrs., that they will not do something like this again. I shoke my head in disbelief!! Then on the other hand you hear of cases where men are in jail for 20 Plus Years, and then you Know their innocent(with enough evidence to support this),and they don’t let them out or call for a re-trial!?

  27. Jessa.K • June 1, 2012 @ 10:17 AM

I blame Video Game violence for violence against women!
I believe video games are a leading factor in the War on Women. These Video games such as Mortal Combat and WWE Wrestling make the beating up of Women fun and entertaining. Young males learn this at a very early age that this is acceptable behavior and they then go and carry it on into their adult lives.

We as a people must stand up and tell not just video game makers but all media creators such as movie and tv producers that violence against women should not be tolerated and that it is not entertaining!

  28. Sylvia • June 1, 2012 @ 1:26 PM

What I can’t understand is why people like Matthew Fox and Chris Brown keep getting jobs in the entertainment industry, they should be blacklisted and not allowed to make money from a public forum. Shame on the industry for supporting this type of behavior.

  29. NastyNellie • June 2, 2012 @ 2:20 AM

He needs to go down a razor slide in a sitting position and land in a sand box filled with salt before jumping into the pool of vinegar.

  30. ImNotAFan • September 12, 2012 @ 4:37 PM

Just because Dominic says Fox is a woman beater that doesn’t mean he’s right because MOST OF YOU SAYS he has no reason to lie. So if you believe that kind of unjust judgement then IF I SAY YOU ARE A WOMAN BEATER, does that mean I am telling the truth? because I have no reason to lie.

Dominic is not HOLY RIGHTEOUSNESS nor anyone of us here, so do not believe what I or He says. Just gather evidence, witness or any medical record to prove the claim then that’s the FACT.

If you still believe accusation without proof then just hope and pray you will not be the VICTIM of unlawful judgement and be jailed for committing no crime.
