Man of Steel 2 moved to Toronto from Vancouver

By Alexandra Heilbron on August 2, 2013 | 4 Comments

Man Of Steel 2, which was originally scheduled to be shot in Vancouver, is now going to be filmed in Toronto. Syncopy and Legendary Pictures made the decision to move the film because Ontario has more favorable tax credits for movie producers. The sequel is yet unnamed, but it’s unofficially known as Superman vs Batman for the time being. It’s scheduled to hit theaters in 2015. Pacific Rim was shot in Toronto last summer, and other motion pictures such as Paul W.S. Anderson‘s Pompeii starring Kiefer Sutherland and Emily Browning, and Guillermo del Toro‘s Strain, starring Kevin Durand and Sean Astin are currently filming in Toronto. Numerous American and Canadian television shows are being filmed in Toronto as well, including Murdoch Mysteries (City), Nikita (CW), Orphan Black (Space), Beauty and the Beast (CBS), Covert Affairs (NBC), Defiance (NBC), Cracked (CBC), Degrassi – The Next Generation (MuchMusic), Hannibal (NBC), Haven (Showcase), Horizon (NBC), Lost Girl (Showcase), Lucky 7 (ABC) and Mr. D (CBC) .
