Mandy Moore gives away bed nets in Cameroon

Mandy Moore, who is an ambassador for the U.N. Foundation’s Nothing But Nets campaign, has flown to the African country of Cameroon in order to help the people there fight against malaria. In cooperation with health organization Population Services International, she’s handing out insecticide-treated mosquito bed nets to people who live in regions most affected by malaria and also to increase education and preventative measures against the potentially deadly condition. Malaria is the number one cause of death in Cameroon among children under five. “I’m meeting the people who need these nets to stay safe from malaria — from two year olds to the Prime Minister,” Mandy told the press. “I’m proud to be a part of this historic effort that will save thousands of lives here in Cameroon, and grateful for the help of so many American supporters who are donating to make this possible.”

She’s handing out nets just how many were paid for by her? I don’t hand them out I purchase them, every year. Instead of spending all that cash on useless Christmas presents this year buy some nets through the World Vision Catalogue! If we all did this just think of all the kids in these malaria infested climates that would benefit.
