Max Irons refuses to work with his father, Jeremy Irons

Max Irons shudders at the thought of working with his father, Oscar-winning actor Jeremy Irons. The Red Riding Hood actor claims he will never work with his dad on set. In an interview with the Independent on Sunday, Max explained how difficult it would be to carry out a father-son collaboration: “That’s my nightmare. My mum maybe, but my dad… that would be really difficult. Have you ever met him? He’s a force of nature, I’ll put it that way; he likes to make his voice heard on set, and I wouldn’t be able to disentangle father and actor. No, keep well away from that.” Max refuses to go down the franchise route and wants to build a foundation with minor roles in successful movies. “Since X-Men our perceptions of what success is have changed. You hear of people my age earning $10m on their second movie, and that’s what we perceive as success,” he said. “There was a franchise that came in my direction and I said ‘I can’t do it’ and my agent said ‘No, you need to do this, it will add another zero to your pay, and I said, ‘No, I can’t … if I do it I might want to give up.'” ~Rebecca Raveendran

I guess because he grew up in a rich family he can turn down roles and not take jobs just for the money. Not everyone has that choice.

@Swellie he wants to get his own stuff and and dose not want to be type casted as “harry potter” as radcliff has and his dad is an epic acter and dose not want to be over shadowed he wants to build with smaller roles in good movies and be in alots of good movies and play differant roles and not the same one over and over like other actors do yes it will pay alot more like RDR get like 50$ million as ironman but now he is ironman and ppl only see ironman he now cant play as a bad guy case he is now ironman the good guy.
