Sleepless in Seattle star Meg Ryan will be returning to the small screen to star in a new NBC sitcom. The untitled comedy follows a former hotshot New York editor who returns to work after taking time off to raise her family, only to find her former intern is now her boss. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Meg will be the lead character, who is a sunny, devoted and desperately non-confrontational single mom who tries to please her teenaged kids, her boss, her ex-husband, and her ex-mother-in-law, which results in her overcomplicating situations. Meg will also serve as executive producer. The creator of the show is screenwriter Marc Lawrence, who is best known for his work on Miss Congeniality and Music and Lyrics. This announcement comes just weeks after a People magazine cover story revealed Meg would take a step back from acting to focus on spending time with her boyfriend, John Mellencamp, and her eight-year-old daughter, Daisy. ~Brie Davis

that actually sounds almost interesting..
The show sounds like it could be good. As far as the People article though…how much further back could she have stepped from acting? I don’t think she’s been in much for years now.
I would love to see her in a sitcom!
