Michael Jackson‘s personal physician Dr. Conrad Murray pleaded not guilty to charges of involuntary manslaughter at the Los Angeles Superior Court Airport Courthouse yesterday, a move that infuriated Jackson’s family. They say the charge isn’t tough enough. “He’s a monster,” Michael’s mother, Katherine Jackson, told the media at the courthouse after Murray’s hearing. “He’s lying. He’s guilty. Nobody was there but him. He’s just trying to save his own behind… He killed him. He wasn’t monitoring him.” Brian Oxman, a longtime lawyer for the Jackson family, said, “This charge is a slap on the wrist. There’s great disappointment here. [Murray] should’ve been charged with a higher degree of responsibility. What he did was reckless. It was a disregard for human life.” Murray faces up to four years in prison if found guilty. ~Alexandra Heilbron

I think that theyre creating too much of a scene here, Michael asked for those drugs it wasnt like the doctor decided to give them out just because he was bored.
Straight-up this is total BS.The doctor should be charged with second degree murder!!All doctors take an oath to save lives,it doesn’t matter what the patient wants in terms of narcotics.It is the doctors who have the final say!!Celebrity or the average Joe off the street are not schooled on the severity, on the mixing of potent narcotics.This doctor’s only thoughts were how much money he could make,with no regard to his patient.This is not a street drug that you can buy on any corner,it is used in a operating room!How can he justify the use of this drug,his actions were unethical as a specialist,he could have and SHOULD HAVE reported MJ’S use of this drug to the proper authorities!Perhaps MJ would be alive today, if the doctor had not been so greedy for the money he was being paid!!Even if MJ ASKED FOR THIS DRUG,HE SHOULD OF BEEN REFUSED IT,BY ANY UPSTANDING PHYICIAN WHO TAKES THEIR PROFESSION SERIOUSLY!!!
Would you expect a doctor to give you crack or something if you just went to him/her and asked?

Nancy I’m not surprised at this outcome,you’d think just because their doctors they are ABOVE THE LAW!!It really p$$$es me off that they get away with this type of behaviour.They screw up a persons life as they did mine,with a misdiagnosis when I had my heart attack and still get to practice without any repercussions.Doctors are in such high demand they now get to pick and choose their patients,its ludacris!Nowadays they interview the patient,before they take a person on.A doctor should NOT be allowed to practice while they have charges against them!After all last time I checked they don’t have god before or after their names!!!!!!!
gypsy, I totally agree, this so-called doctor knew the risks, yet gave Michael the drug, then left him alone for a long time! He didn’t even monitor him! I believe he is totally responsible for Michael’s death and should be locked up, his license should be revoked, etc, severe punishment.
Even now, between his court dates, he’s still allowed to practice and treat patients, he’s just not allowed to prescribe or treat anyone with propofol.
That’s what I’m talking about Nancy,this so called Doctor totally overampt MJ on regular sedatives before he gave him the propofol!Who’s to say he won’t harm another innocent patient,before or during this trial! It’s total BS,LETTING HIM PRACTICE AT ALL!!!

MJ was a druggie! He is no diffrent then someone on the street other than the amount of $$$$ in his bank account (and even that was going down hill). He was manipulative and was in a position of power. What this man did was wrong but MJ MUST take some blame here. If it wasn’t him it would have been someone else. I can only wonder where MJ’s family was while he was using so much. Too bad they didn’t feel like screaming then!

A drug dealer has the power over the druggie,because he can refuse to sell it to them!Just as the doctor had the power to refuse to get this certain drug PROPOFOL,WHICH IS NOT READILY AVAILABLE AT YOUR CORNER DRUG DEALERS HAVEN. What part of this comment don’t you understand? YES MJ was hooked on drugs,the type that is available on the streets or through a doctor.PROPOFOL IS NOT IN THE SAME CATAGORY AS THESE OTHER TYPES.This man was a specialist,(heart doctor) HE had the power to refuse to give him this particular drug,which KILLED MJ.HE took an oath to help patients live not to WACK THEM!!!HE could have and should have told a family member,or the proper authorities about MJ’S use of this lethal drug,but the greed held him back from doing so!!When this drug is used in the operating room,the patient is closely monitored,NEVER left alone even for a minute,they don’t give it to ya and leave the operating room and all go for a coffee break,then come back 5 or 10 minutes later to do the surgery!!That is my point, this DR left the room after giving MJ this drug to go (as he stated) to the bathroom,YOU JUST CAN’T LEAVE ANYONE ALONE AFTER GIVING THIS TYPE DRUG!!!I would agree with you if this was a STREET DRUG,but it isn’t,the power was in the Specialist’s hand’s,and Greed for money won him over!That in itself makes him GUILTY OF SECOND DEGREE MURDER,IN MY BOOK’S!!Lets not forget this Dr fed MJ plenty of sedatives before injecting him with the propofol,this is more proof the DR was incompetent and should be held accountable for MJ’S passing.DRUGGIE OR NOT MJ was a human being and didn’t deserve to die!!!He definitely needed rehab but there is no excuse for this DR’S lack of proper medical treatment!!!!This is my own personal opinion.
In my opinion, Michael has already paid his price….now it is the Dr. who provided the lethal drug to pay his.
Well said, gypsy. Also, according to phone records, the doctor spent about 40 minutes on the phone, so Michael was left along for a very long time. No excuse, throw the book at him.
This doctor should be held accountable for his poor judgement and actions that killed MJ. He knew what he was giving him and knew what was required as a doctor so he sure is at fault totally for this. He killed MJ and there isnt any other person to blame.
If he didnt kill MJ it would have been a person like you or me or another person with lots of $$. This doctor just wanted money thats all. A free trip to London anything he could get. He saw a golden opportunity. He was the professional here not MJ. He should have known how to be professional in his judgement. i say he needs to be charged with MURDER. You dont spend 40 mins on a phone when you know you need to monitor someone.
