Michael Jackson’s former lawyer shot dead

Catherine BachMichael Jackson‘s former lawyer has been found shot dead. Peter Lopez — who was married to The Dukes Of Hazzard actress Catherine Bach (shown in a recent photograph at left) — reportedly committed suicide at the couple’s home in California last Friday. A neighbour heard the shot, and Peter, 60, was found by someone who was at the house. A spokesperson for Catherine — who played Daisy Duke in the TV series — and the couple’s two daughters Sophia and Laura said: “The Lopez Family has suffered a tragic personal loss. Catherine and the girls ask for your prayers.” Peter had been Michael’s lawyer since 2006 when he was appointed by the singer’s former general manager, Raymone Bain, to re-organize his business affairs. Raymone said: “I’d known Peter for 20 years, I can’t think of a nicer individual. He was a good guy. I’m just so shocked.”

I can’t believe that’s Catherine Bach, she looks so different. At any rate, that’s very tragic.

Glad to see how misleading Tribute.ca reports its news – they made it seem like the former lawyer was murdered and yet adds to more confusion by using a photo of the widow. Impressive! Couldn’t find a photo of the deceased or used a more appropriate headline actually stating suicide?

Maybe they couldn’t find one, Peter. It’s not like the guy is famous.

Suicide is always tragic news. I feel very sad that a person feels at that point suicide is the only answer. My condolences to the family. I also think that the heading was very misleading. To me, it sounded like others were involved not what actually happened (self inflicted)

My cousin’s son on March 30th 2010 took a gun and took his life in front of some people at a shooting range. He was only 24 yrs old, they said he’s been depressed for quite sometime. I had another friend whose daughter at the time was only 17, took her brother’s hand gun and took her life, because her friend stole her boyfriend from her. So what does this tell you about the media, are they really that heartless? Yeah and I dislike people who attack others for their selfish gain.
