MTV Movie awards raunchiest, funniest ever

By Alexandra Heilbron on June 6, 2011 | 11 Comments

The MTV Movie Awards were the raunchiest and funniest to date as Robert Pattinson dropped the F-Bomb and kissed his co-star (but not the one you think), Justin Timberlake made a reference to his privates and Reese Witherspoon talked about sex tapes. Pattinson introduced Reese to present her with the Generation Award. He talked about how he’d first played her son in Vanity Fair (though his scenes were cut) and then her lover in Water for Elephants. He told her, “I didn’t cut you out. But I did f**k you.” After accepting her award, Reese said she understood that girls think it’s “cool to be a bad girl. But it is possible to make it in Hollywood without doing a reality show. When I came up in this business, if you made a sex tape, you were embarrassed and you hid it under your bed.” She also had advice for celebs who take naked pictures of themselves with their cell phones: “Hide your face!”

When Pattinson and Kristen Stewart went up onstage to accept their award for Best Kiss, he told her: “I don’t feel like kissing you. You don’t want to kiss me do you? I just think there’s someone in the audience who would appreciate it a little more.” Kristen gave him a little push, saying, “Go and get him.” Pattinson ran to their Twilight Saga: Eclipse co-star, Taylor Lautner, who was seated in the audience, wrapped his arms around him and kissed him on the cheek, head and hand. Rob raced back on to the stage with his arms out to Kristen, who shoved him away, holding on to the trophy and saying, “Uh-uh, it’s mine!” He wrapped his arms around her, said, “I want to take you backstage,” and led her away. Friends with Benefits co-stars Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis outdid everyone when he put his hands on her breasts, to which she responded by grabbing his crotch. As they were about to announce the Best male performance, Timberlake quipped: “and the winner is…I think we just found out! What a shameless reference to my p*nis!”

I respect Reese to say what she said. Those wannabe stars that become celebrities for all the wrong reasons should be boycoted. Kardashians, Hiltons and supposed self made empires are all done from other people’s work.

Reality shows. Being filmes while doing regular every day stuff, boy that’s hard.

Fragrances. OK so everyone knows they are not chemists so aside from putting their names on it, there’s nothing they actually have to do but to cash the cheques.

Clothing lines: If they don’t design them, I doubt they do anything else but again, cash it in.

Music and movies, they try but they pretty much all fail at it but they still get paid.

Basically, they become famous for stupid reasons and then cash in on their name and people are dumb enough to keep buying or watching so we create those monsters.

Freddie, you just might be a vampire cos you read my mind.

the host was not as funny as I had expected, the speeches overdone (as is the case in most award shows) and teenage humour abounded….

a few very enjoyable music performances

wow Germain, you’re so tarnished by such trivial stuff…people are dumb for watching? talk about to each his own? Hey, I don’t enjoy it, but those who do I wouldn’t call dumb…I say enjoy whatever you want when it comes to entertainment – music/tv/movies…

Jo-Anne aren’t you 30 years too old to be watching MTV?

Thank you stupid teens for turning a great award show into the TWilight show. Why even bother with this award show anymore? Was Robert Pattison drunk? That was the most painful tribute I’ve ever witnessed. What a joke. Kirstin Stewart are you on drugs?

Some time back, there was an award show(just recently)where it showed a clip of the new Twilight movie. In the scene, Taylor, Robert and Kristin were at school and Taylor rides off with Kristin on his bike. I just remember all through the night there were silly spoofs going on, before the clip was played, it was announced as “preview from the upcoming twilight movie”; so there I am watching this clip and I started laughing because the acting was so hilarious, silly and just I don’t know, umm, was it even acting? It was afterwards I realized that was an actual clip of the movie. I couldn’t believe it, I was so confused and dazed all at the same time thinking that they were acting or putting on a spoof for the awards show. Funny enough, Taylor has a new movie coming out similar to the Bourne movies and his acting in that looks outstanding. Kristin was good herself way before. Seems as if they will succeed far better on their own once this franchise of Twilight has come to an end to allow the actors to really step out from under the “teen” eyes umbrella for the more young adults audience.

Jo-Anne, artists used to be famous for being really good or great at their craft, now celebs are considered great for being famous. How do they get famous? First, the name, they’re in this world already, famous dad, famous mother…. They do a sex tape, they get in trouble or whatever and that gets them a reality show. Then they get the fragrance or clothing line and what not, even record an album or get a movie and suck at that too.

You have good actors and singers who struggled for years and never reach that level of success and those ditsy sluts get all the press. I can’t watch ET or entertainement shows anymore because all they do is talk about wannabes and has been’s. Dancing with the Stars and Kardashians and Hiltons and Lopez and on and on. Don’t you think more deserving people should get the publicity?

Reese Witherspoon made a good comment. Really, we honour these people with awards after we already honour by watching/listening to them all the time anyway. I’m becoming fickle about that industry. Too bad I enjoy a little escape from reality for a couple hours by watching movies.
That is quite possible the first pic of Kristen Stewart that she is smiling and playful. Her hurt torn tortured soul must be on vacation.

  9. Germain • June 7, 2011 @ 1:55 PM

Good one C-Dub, she does have that confused, sad, what’s my next line expression on her face all the time. I’m glad I’m not the only one noticing.

The MTV award for most pointless tribute post goes too………. JO-ANNE!

  11. Jo-Anne • June 13, 2011 @ 8:54 PM

oh, I certainly agree with some of your points. But you say they’re considered “great”…who considers them so? not everyone. I don’t. Do you? So, some do. Such is life. To be called “dumb” cuz you enjoy something different to yourself is…well, dumb

I disagree many many times on who wins what awards on a lot of these award shows. To see a seasoned artist go up against some new, say i.e. rapper on the block and lose to the block will never cease to amaze me…
