Be honest — is it even worth mentioning the other films on this list when the Blu-ray combo pack for Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set to hit shelves today? Oh well, we will anyway. The $2 billion blockbuster is just the first of four new and equally watchable DVD releases this week, which include the tennis comedy Break Point, desert thriller Mojave and romantic dramedy Tumbledown. ~Shelby Morton
Thirty years after Return of the Jedi, Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) is missing. Star Wars: The Force Awakens follows a crew of new and old characters on their search to find him. A Resistance pilot (Oscar Isaac) hides a map with Luke’s whereabouts inside BB-8. Meanwhile, a scrappy scavenger named Rey (Daisy Ridley) and a former Stormtrooper named Finn (John Boyega) team up with Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Chewbacca on the Millennium Falcon to find Luke for General Leia (Carrie Fisher).

Break Point is a sports comedy about down-on-his-luck pro tennis player Jimmy (Jeremy Sisto), whose lack of professionalism and alcoholism has led his latest partner to drop him months before a major tournament. He’s set on playing anyway, but unfortunately, it’s a doubles tournament and because of his reputation, no other players will go near him. Determined to make a comeback and prove everyone wrong, he enlists his estranged (and former pro tennis player) brother Dennis (David Walton) to help him make a final go at a grand slam.

The crime thriller Mojave follows Thomas (Garrett Hedlund), a brilliant artist with a wife and daughter, as he travels to the Mojave desert in order to clear his mind, or commit suicide — whichever comes first. There he encounters a mysterious and homicidal drifter named Jack (Oscar Isaac) who sets his deranged sights on mentally and physically torturing the unsuspecting Thomas.

Hannah Miles (Rebecca Hall) is a young journalist and widow struggling to write a biography about her late musician husband in the romantic drama Tumbledown. New York academic Andrew (Jason Sudeikis) visits Hannah’s small New England town in the hopes of writing a novel about the elusive and singularly talented Hunter Miles. Initially disdainful of the invasive wannabe-novelist, Hannah soon discovers that Andrew can help her, and she offers him a job to co-write the biography. The two set off on a path to a greater understanding of Hunter’s life and music, and on the way, discover that they have much more in common with each other than they thought.
