New on DVD: Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2, Ex Machina and more

Coming out today is a collection of movies to keep your week and weekend occupied with films like Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2, Ex Machina and more.

Where there is a mall in danger, he’ll be there. Paul Blart (Kevin James) is back in action in Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2, but this time in Las Vegas. While in Sin City for a security guard convention, his daughter is kidnapped. Instinct takes over and it’s Paul to the rescue as he tries to stop a robbery and save his daughter’s life in the process.

Ex Machina is the story of Caleb (Domhnall Gleeson), a programmer who goes to the house of his company’s CEO Nathan (Oscar Isaac), to learn more about the work he is doing with AI and robotics. Caleb is introduced to a lifelike AI, named Ana (Alicia Vikander), who is more than he could possibly imagine. She looks real and seems to have a real personality, feelings, thoughts and more. Ana begins to convince Caleb that Nathan is not all he claims to be and that he shouldn’t trust him, but instead should trust her.

When the first hotel reaches maximum capacity, Sonny (Dev Patel) decides that expansion is necessary to accommodate new guests. Sonny creates The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. When a new man, Guy Chambers (Richard Gere), moves in, the ladies of the hotel are all taken with him, but he has his eye on Sonny’s mother.

When Luke (Scott Eastwood) is forced to quit the life of competitive bull riding, he is faced with the reality that he and his mother may not be able to afford their family ranch. Luke meets Sophia (Britt Robertson), a college grad heading to New York to start her career. The Longest Ride tells how the two fall in love, but realize they’re headed in separate directions. After stumbling on to a car accident, the two are showered in tales of a lifelong love that may inspire them to find a way to be together.

When Maggie (Abigail Breslin) becomes infected with the zombie virus, she only has a few short weeks to enjoy before she is lost forever. Her father, Wade (Arnold Schwarzenegger), is forced with the terrible decision of what to do with his daughter. Desperate for a cure, he will stop at nothing to help her but in the end, he may be forced to do the unthinkable.

The Riot Club is an elite group of Oxford University’s best and brightest – a club whose membership reaches back generations and is extremely exclusive. Miles (Max Irons) is recruited into this prestigious group. He meets a girl, Lauren (Holliday Grainger), who is there on a scholarship and the two immediately hit it off. When things go wrong at a Riot Club event with a hooker, things escalate and everyone has their limits tested.

Jay (Maika Monroe) is a 19-year-old girl who just wants to live life and be happy. She meets a boy and the two have a sexual encounter. Afterwards she finds out he passed on something to her. Not sure as to what it is, this thing, It Follows wherever you go and tries to kill you. Jay must either pass on the curse, or die trying.

The Salt of the Earth is a documentary about photographer Sebastiao Salgado, who traveled the world as a social photographer capturing all aspects of human life and injustices. He uses his photos to bring the forgotten and neglected parts of the world and people into the forefront, provoking discussion and compassion to help one’s fellow man with worldwide attention.
