Hurricane Sandy hit NYC and surrounding areas on Monday afternoon—an event that mayor Michael Bloomberg and other officials have been preparing New Yorkers for in the past couple of weeks. Subway lines were shut down, homes evacuated and stores closed but even Sandy can’t stop the show from going on. TV hosts Jimmy Fallon and David Letterman went through with their late-night talk shows last night despite having no audience members. In Fallon's opening monologue on his The Jimmy Fallon Show, he assured viewers — while standing outside of Radio City Music Hall in wet and windy midtown Manhattan— “I’m hoping, if you’re watching, you are at home, you are safe…but we’re here.” Similarly, late night legend Letterman told audiences: “We have no studio audience…but we do have a quite a show for you tonight,” and jokingly thanked viewers for “joining us in the Ed Sullivan Shelter.” Fallon was joined by celebs such as Padma Lakshmi, Robert Zemeckis and Seth Meyers while A-lister Denzel Washington showed up on The Late Show with David Letterman to talk about his new film Flight. ~Brandon Bastaldo

I actually really enjoyed Letterman last night. I think he did a great job! I enjoyed more last night than I have in awhile.
The show must go on. Good for them for getting paid buckets of money and following thru with their jobs by providing entertainment to people who can't even view their show because the 7 million people have no power.
