Former NYPD Blue writer Ted Shuttleworth was arrested this weekend and may be facing up to a year in prison after allegedly killing his poodle by punching her in the face. The 51-year-old writer reportedly punched the 4 1/2 pound dog (Lola) in the face after getting annoyed with her. Shutterworth later brought Lola to a veterinarian, who found the injury suspicious and contacted the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). After performing tests the ASPCA confirmed that she died as a direct result of the punch, telling the New York Post: “Lola sustained a traumatic brain injury secondary to the application of blunt force to the right side of her head at the hands of the suspect, her owner." ~Stacy Raivich

What a sick ass! Someone should beat the crap out of him
What a pile of garbage, a thing like him should be put in jail that what he did to such an innocent creature
I bet he probably didn't mean to hit it hard enough to actually kill it.
What an asshole! Really its a DOG! Dogs have moments too, so if you think hitting it in the freaking FACE is going to make it stop, well then you are a despicable person. Go to hell! Oh and R.I.P Lola :'(
Poodles can be vicious (they bite a lot) and annoying. Still, doesn't excuse what he did.
It doesn't matter what his intent was, you don't PUNCH a defenseless animal. Are you kidding? If you can't handle the breed, give him to someone who can. Prison, anger management and a huge donation to the ASPCA. Maybe even a PSA or something. How horrible.
Wow what a disgusting piece of sh*t. Put him away, he is a worthless monster. There has to be more done against animal abuse! @Anonymous - The dog was only 4 and a half pounds, obviously punching it would seriously hurt it.
