If Oprah is the godmother of Beyonce and Jay-Z’s baby girl Blue Ivy, as online rumors were suggesting, it’s news to her. Winfrey’s best friend, Gayle King, cleared up the confusion on CBS’s The Early Show this morning. “It’s absolutely not true that she’s the godmother,” King explained. “She’s friends with them, of course, and likes them both very much. She’s working on sending them a baby gift.” Meanwhile, comedian Kathy Griffin has noted who she thinks the prestigious position should go to, tweeting, “R u fing kidding me??? Oprah is Blue Ivy’s godmother??? Gwyneth [Paltrow] must b PISSED.” Beyonce and Jay-Z have yet to make a statement about who the godmother really is, however the position of Blue Ivy’s godfather has already been filled by Jay-Z’s best friend, Tyran “Ty Ty” Smith.
