It looks like a new host for the 86th Oscars is not the only thing that has changed. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced yesterday that the 2014 awards ceremony will be held in March. This isn’t the first time the Oscars have aired outside of February’s 28-day month. They were previously held in March from 1942-1957, and again from 1988-2002. The months of April and November have also had the pleasure of being chosen for the glamorous event. The decision to change the 2014 Oscars from late February to Sunday, March 2nd was to avoid competing for viewers with the much anticipated Winter Olympics. Though many may complain about having to wait for the big event, nominees can relish in the extra few days to campaign for an Oscar win.~Brittnee Fleming
