Peter Facinelli: I treat women with respect

Peter Facinelli Peter Facinelli credits his upbringing for the way he treats women. The 39-year-old actor believes his parents Bruna and Pierino taught him how care for people properly, and he insists since becoming a father to daughters Luca, 16, Lola, nine, and Fiona, seven, he's even more conscious about treating the opposite sex with respect. Speaking to Life and Style magazine, he said: ''It's the way I was brought up -- to treat women with a lot of respect. I have three sisters and three daughters. I want them to be treated well, so I treat women well.'' The Twilight Saga star even battled the snow and rain to get his girlfriend Jaimie Alexander - who he has been dating since late 2012 - some medication after she got sick. Jaimie explained: ''I ate Mexican food and I got really sick. It was around 1 a.m. and he went out to get me meds. It was freezing and raining outside. He had to walk three miles in the snow.'' Meanwhile, Peter insists there have been no bad feelings between him and his ex-wife Jennie Garth - whom is the mother of his children - since their divorce earlier this year as they both accepted that it was time to move on as they were no longer happy together. He explained: ''The secret to relationships is to treat each other with kindness and know when it's not working. Sometimes you need to move on. I am happy now. My kids are happy and everything's going well.''

I haven’t met too many kids who are “happy” that their parents aren’t together. It shatters their world. If there are no bad feelings between him and his wife, they should try again for the kids. And where do they live that he had to walk 3 miles in the snow? He’s probably pretty wealthy, no Mercedes? And since when does it snow in southern California?

Not everyone is the same. Im pretty sure they are more happy wih their parents apart and being happy then them being together and fighting all the time, damaging their kids mentally into thinking thats all normal. So yeah if they are happy apart then it should stay that way

@Kags I know this is a novel idea, but what if rather than fighting all the time, parents started being kind to each other. If he can be kind to his new girlfriend, then maybe he and his wife could have been kind to each other. That would be better than damaging their kids and thinking that having your home split in two is normal.
