Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher
Legendary Hollywood actress Debbie Reynolds gave birth to her first born child and only daughter, Carrie Fisher, on October 21, 1956. The two enjoyed a very close relationship over the years, with Carrie following in her mother’s footsteps and gaining fame with her role in Star Wars. However, there was a period that began when Carrie was in her twenties in which she was heavily involved in drugs, starting with marijuana and graduating to cocaine, heroin, acid and painkillers. It took three decades for the relationship to be repaired, including a 10-year stint in which Carrie didn’t speak to her mother at all. However, when Carrie finally decided to give up the drugs and come clean, the two were reunited and were once again close.
