Emma Thompson

This British thespian can do it all. She has earned the respect of the Academy for her dramatic and writing abilities, winning an Oscar for Best Actress (Howard’s End) and another for Best Screenplay (Sense and Sensibility). However, her early acting days were spent as a member of the Footlights comedy troupe while she studied at Cambridge alongside classmates Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry.

I would add Dame Maggie Smith to the list - her career is studded with memorable roles, and her Dowager Countess is the best thing about Downton Abbey.

Well,Who would not love Judi Dench?
Monday, at 7.30pm,is reserved for 'Jean & Lionel,& cast, Of 'As time goes by", no matter what else is occuring. We have seen most of her movies,too,-- the best being, we think, Her Majesty,Mrs.Brown. We also love to watch her acting with Maggie Smith,--they seem to compliment each others acting style.'Marigld Hotel' was an excellant move,--thoroughly enjoyed it! Being seniors ourselves, we don't get to the movies that often, but if there is one with Judi in it, we'll be there!!!
