Photographic proof Nicolas Cage is a vampire

By Alexandra Heilbron on September 22, 2011 | 34 Comments

An eBay seller going by the name jack_mord who specializes in “Victorian Era postmortem photography” but also collects “the occasional medical, crime-related, or generally strange vintage photo,” put up for auction a vintage photo that looks eerily like Nicolas Cage. The seller recognized the resemblance and mentioned it in his auction blurb, claiming that the photo proves Cage is one of the undead. The description reads: “Original c.1870 carte de visite showing a man who looks exactly like Nick Cage. Personally, I believe it’s him and that he is some sort of walking undead / vampire, et cetera, who quickens / reinvents himself once every 75 years or so. 150 years from now, he might be a politician, the leader of a cult, or a talk show host.” One of our staffers theorizes that Cage is actually from the future and is traveling through time. Though most of jack_mord’s photos are priced anywhere from $35 to $618, he’s asking $1 million for this little gem. [poll id=”315″]

  3. Nobody Important • September 22, 2011 @ 3:13 AM

You’d think that after 150 years he’d take an acting class or two.

  4. Ann • September 22, 2011 @ 8:43 AM

If he is a vampire, he should still have the same amount of hair as he did in 1870. Amazing resemblance though.

About a week and a half late with this story tribute!

  6. Thibz • September 22, 2011 @ 9:05 AM

What a shocking resemblance!! Who knew lol!

  7. Connie • September 22, 2011 @ 9:05 AM

    Ha! Awesome!

  8. Germain • September 22, 2011 @ 9:13 AM

Pretty funny that this man is trying to cash in on an obvious freeky resemblance. Worst of all, there might be a sucker out there that might actually buy it.

  9. Helen • September 22, 2011 @ 9:23 AM

    Really amazing resemblance!

  10. L1feless • September 22, 2011 @ 9:37 AM

and the buyer will be….Nick Cage.

(As soon as he pays off all his debt)

  11. Lisa from Iroquois • September 22, 2011 @ 9:45 AM

    The ears are different.

  12. Angela • September 22, 2011 @ 9:58 AM

Not only are the ears different but the hair looks like it has been cut and pasted! Fake all the way!

  13. David • September 22, 2011 @ 10:23 AM

That is just great! It’s the eyes that do it. But $1 million dollars?! C’mon!

  14. jjjones • September 22, 2011 @ 11:15 AM

That’s just a weird story. Photos are cool though.

  15. Thibz • September 22, 2011 @ 12:22 PM

ok so after looking at the picture carefully it looks like Nicolas’s face might have been past on. If you look at the angle the head is facing youll notice the eyes, nose and mouth dont align properly. The eyes, nose and mouth should be on more of angle leaning towards the left side of the face. If you look on the left side of his face just beside his left eye you’ll notice a light strip going down. The light in the picture is coming from the right side not the left. That area should be well shaded. With a little photoshop to smoothin the edges and blend in the skin tone and color of the pic you get that. However you never know it could be a real pic to and the person just has a messed up facial profile

  16. Neil • September 22, 2011 @ 12:26 PM

    Can you say Photoshop.

  17. C-Dub • September 22, 2011 @ 12:50 PM

Anything to make a buck. And sure it looks similar but not identical. Whomever buys it will be a moron to the extreme. And believe me, someone will buy it.

  18. Sherry • September 22, 2011 @ 2:04 PM

While the faces are similar, the ears are not the same at all. Check for yourself.

  19. Connie • September 22, 2011 @ 2:35 PM

The only thing different about the ears is that the guy in the vintage photo has ears that stick out. Maybe Cage has had them pinned back surgically since then. Very easy procedure to have done.

  20. deb • September 22, 2011 @ 2:53 PM

photoshop … face is too big for the head … and the wrong facial angle too (as noted above)

  21. Tracey • September 22, 2011 @ 2:55 PM

I can say photoshop!! You can see the cut lines tight around the mouth nose and eyes. But if he can make a MILLION off of that I’m startin a new business!!!

  22. David • September 22, 2011 @ 3:33 PM

The ears between the two faces are each an entirely different shape. The fact is, everyone has someone who looks lot like them; that’s why there are ‘Celebrity Doubles’. I can’t count the number of times that someone has told me that I look exactly like someone else. It happens nearly every day.

  23. anonymous2 • September 22, 2011 @ 5:24 PM

The man in the photo looks like he was a broken nose.

  24. anonymous2 • September 22, 2011 @ 5:25 PM

I meant looks like he has a broken nose.

  25. Tracy • September 22, 2011 @ 6:45 PM

I think its just a doppleganger thing. If you look at the ears, they are completely different. The so called older pic has round earlobes, and Nick has very different earlobes; and besides, there are no such things as vampires okay!

  26. Sandra • September 22, 2011 @ 8:25 PM

Looks photoshopped. Man in original photo is looking to the right, not straight ahead as the pasted face portion suggests.

  27. Trae • September 22, 2011 @ 8:52 PM

…except the ears are different, the lips are different, the eyebrows are different…the right jaw is different.! And yet, there still is a resemblance…and a strong one.
I think it was one of the Ivy Leagues school in the states where a student of Mathematics proved fomrulaically that vampires could note exist, as quite some time ago
( using the first appearance in literature as the starting point) they would’ve run out of humans to feed on!

  28. Karyn • September 22, 2011 @ 9:00 PM

I’ll be watching this one on my Ebay!!

  29. Deejon • September 23, 2011 @ 3:13 PM

I see differences, look at the ears! It is not anything to do with his having his ears pinned back, they are different sizes and shapes … what a farce

  30. sandie • September 23, 2011 @ 5:28 PM

the resemblance is quite cool. not that strange though…my mom has pictures of my uncle and he looks a lot like nick cage too…guess he just has a common look?

  31. Terry • September 23, 2011 @ 8:20 PM

I’ve seen an exact double of my brother and my mother and also of my father. My brother came upon an exact double of me working at a fast food window during his travels. We have exact doubles during our own lifetime as well as generations before us and they will come after us. I met another man and I said, “Gee, you look exactly like…” and he cut me off and said, “Ya, I know, George Burns. Everybody tells me that everywhere I go”. This man in the vintage photo looks very similar to Nicolas Cage but I wouldn’t say he’s an exact double. I bet there are other people around who look more like him than the man in this picture does. Interesting article though.

  32. eldon • September 24, 2011 @ 12:39 PM

    could be a great relative!

  33. Sara • September 25, 2011 @ 11:45 PM

If it’s not a fake, then maybe a relative, but there are enough differences in head shape, ears, etc… that it’s obviously not the same man. Besides, I can remember when Cage looked MUCH younger (can’t you?).

  34. EU • August 31, 2015 @ 10:29 AM

Before even considering to offer this “vampire” conspiracy he should have compare ears – they are VERY different.
