Remembering John Lennon 30 years later

By Alexandra Heilbron on December 8, 2010 | 1 Comment

Today is the 30th anniversary of John Lennon’s death, and fans continue to honor his memory by placing flowers and candles on the black and white mosaic in Central Park’s Strawberry Fields that pays tribute to the late Beatle. Strawberry Fields is 50 meters from the Dakota apartments where Lennon lived with his wife, Yoko Ono and their five-year-old son, Sean. Lennon arrived at the building after a day of recording songs on December 8, 1980, and was shot dead by Mark Chapman. We’d like to share these photos in honor of his memory.

I remember who I was with, what I was doing, where I was, when it happened but will never understand WHY?! Thank you for the music, John…your memory will never fade…
