Ride Along beats newcomers at weekend box office

Ride Along, starring Kevin Hart and Ice Cube, retained the top spot at the weekend’s box office, earning an additional $21.1 million and getting a 3.5 star rating from Tribute readers. Mark Wahlberg’s Lone Survivor hung on to second place, taking in another $12.6 million, with a Tribute rating of 4.3 stars. Also hanging on to its position from last weekend was the animated comedy The Nut Job in third place. Featuring the voices of Will Arnett, Brendan Fraser and Katherine Heigl, the film took in $12.3 million with a Tribute rating of 3.3 stars. The ever popular animated film Frozen rose a spot to fourth place, earning $9.04 million over the weekend for a total of $347.8 million. Tribute readers love the film, giving it 4.3 stars. Rounding out the top five was Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit. This adaptation based on Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan novels earned $8.8 million and a Tribute rating of 3.1 stars.
