Rocker Meat Loaf sues fan

By Tribute on July 5, 2012 | 11 Comments

Hard rock musician and Fight Club actor Michael Aday – better known by his stage name of Meat Loaf – is suing an alleged fan and impersonator. According to reports from TMZ, the star recently filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court against U.K. native Dean Torkington for registering a domain by the name “MeatLoaf.org” and refusing to remove the site when asked. Torkington is apparently a Meat Loaf fan and uses the site to promote his own act, which is actually a tribute to Meat Loaf: “To Hell and Back: A Tribute to Meat Loaf.” Meat Loaf accuses the man of cybersquatting and claims that the site is misleading and created in bad faith in order to confuse fans and cause them to mistake the impersonator for the real musician. In his lawsuit Meat Loaf is hoping the site will be shut down and is also requesting a hefty sum of $100,000 in damages. ~Stacy Raivich

I went to the site and it says “Tribute” if you look at the site you know it’s not the real Meatloaf.

since when is 100,000 a hefty sum? yes the man should change his website address. The REAL Meatloaf is an incredible artist and deserves to not have a wannbe sponging off him.

pretty hefty sum for someone who’s NOT a celebrity? do you really have $100,000 to toss on a lawsuit? lucky you. most fans don’t so yeah thats hefty Tracy.

“Michael” Aday? And yet the tag says “Marvin”…make up your mind, dude. By that I mean use the right name.

Also, $100,000 in damages? What damages? I can see shutting down the site, but c’mon man…I suspect he’s not your fan anymore.

i have held this domain 12 years and he has known about it all that time. im a tribute act and i am defending this allegation. funny he brings this has he starts a world tour! cheap publicity stunt!

Mr Aday knew about Dean’s website 8 years ago.. invited him back stage etc. He bought http://www.meatloaf.org.uk in 2009/2010 and because he wants the domaine without the UK element he wants Mr. T’s and because Mr. T wouldn’t give it over he’s turned Mr. Nasty.. EGOCENTRISM AT IT’S BEST
