Rolling Stone magazine has named Jimi Hendrix as the “Greatest Guitarist of All Time.” A panel of music experts and top guitarists got together to form the list, including Rage Against The Machine’s Grammy award-winning guitarist Tom Morello, who wrote: “Jimi Hendrix exploded our idea of what rock music could be: He manipulated the guitar, the whammy bar, the studio and the stage. His playing was effortless. There’s not one minute of his recorded career that feels like he’s working hard at it — it feels like it’s all flowing through him.” The top 10 guitarists, after Hendrix, are in descending order: Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Keith Richards, Jeff Beck, B.B. King, Chuck Berry, Eddie Van Halen, Duane Allman and Pete Townshend. The issue will hit newsstands today.

No Slash? This list is a fail. “Let’s just make a list of old guitarists people think are cool!”

@AIssawi Everyday you are heading toward getting old. The next day is one more day of getting closer to getting old. So when you are old, does that mean you Wouldn’t want to be recognised for a life-long achievement you Did(wouldn’t that make your heart soar)?? Or you could say, “I don’t want to be acknowledged anymore?”
