Rupert FriendRupert Friend shot himself in the head while filming Hitman: Agent 47.

The 33-year-old actor accidentally fired a blank which bounced up off the floor and struck him on the face while working on the action movie, and he was ”amazed” not to need stitches on the wound.

He told the New York Post‘s Page Six column: ”I shot myself in the head. You fire blanks, but the guns eject real brass, hot cartridges. They’re like 400 degrees€‰. The cartridge ejected, hit the ground, bounced up and cut my head open.

”It was fine in the end, which I’m amazed about, because I’ve had head wounds before and they bleed like all hell.”

The Homeland actor’s mishap even made it into the final edit of the movie, though he isn’t the first star to have an on-set accident featured on film.

While shooting a breakdown scene for Foxcatcher, Channing Tatum shattered a mirror – which was covered with a protective sleeve – and the wall behind it, leaving himself battered and bleeding.

Director Bennett Miller previously said: ”He punched that thing with his head three times and shattered it, and put his head through it and through the frame behind the mirror and through the drywall that the mirror was hanging on and left a divot two inches deep. When we took the mirror down, there was a hole in the wall. And he actually cut himself, and you see his blood in that scene.”

And when filming Django UnchainedLeonardo DiCaprio accidentally shattered a glass with his hand, but continued filming and never broke character, even when removing splinters from his palm.

Producer Stacey Sher previously recalled: ”Leo had slammed his hand on the table countless times and he moved his hand further and he crushed a crystal cordial glass. Blood was dripping down his hand. He never broke character. He kept going. He was in such a zone. It was very intense. He required stitches.”
