Russell Brand named sexiest vegetarian

Rock of Ages star Russell Brand has been named the World’s Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity of 2011, along with Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids), by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), who compile the annual list. Russell, who just purchased a $6.5 million mansion in California with his wife, Katy Perry, has been a vegetarian since the age of 14. He recently told Kelly Ripa he doesn’t even eat fish oil. “I’m vegetarian,” he explained. “I think it’s cruel to squeeze oil out of a fish… Cause they’re lovely little guys, aren’t they?” Brand and Wiig join past winners of the honor such as Olivia Wilde, Carrie Underwood, Shania Twain, Alicia Silverstone, Josh Hartnett and Tobey Maguire. Other celebrities recently named by PETA for their efforts in aiding animals in distress include Ryan Reynolds, Ricky Gervais and Kyle Chandler.

Hmm, I think RB is totally hilarious, but I wouldn’t call him sexy by any stretch of the imagination. As for Leo, good on him for helping with the shark fin ban! and an excellent actor, but sexy? really? He looks like a young Jack Nicholson, those squinty eyes, and a forehead you could golf off of, and same hair line.. yowsas..

Well, I kinda think the “young” Jack Nicholson was even better looking than this guy. I’m the 11th one to comment on this thread, and if 11 out of 11 don’t think this guy is even attractive, never mind not sexy, where do they get their information from? Who voted him sexiest vegetarian? Just goes to show, you can’t believe everything you read.
Certainly sexy is in the eye of the beholder. But sexy isn’t just about a perfect hairline, jawline or even being tall. A sense of humour combined with a great smile, wit and intelligence are sexy traits in my mind. And Russell Brand possesses all of these qualities. Also the fact that he is a vegetarian married to vegetarian Katy Perry makes them an attractive sexy couple.

I don’t think that Russell Brand is particularly SEXY, but I do think that he has a sexy way of speaking and a sexy personality… or do I just mean funny??? Not sure, but I like the way he communicates. Does that count?

I guess we should thank God that people have different tastes, though the media does a great job in trying to uniformize it.
I think Russell is extremely sexy, intelligent, and quick witted, and yes, I always prefered charm, personality and creativity to meat in a man, but that’s not the only thing I find sexy in him, I’m also attracted to his looks!

I don’t think they basing him being sexy just on his appearance. True, it’s not standard Hollywood version of sexy. But Brand has something that many recent Hollywood stars don’t. He has a genuine and unique personality. Not to mention that fact that he’s honest about his life, yet he does not flaunt his personal business as the same time. Even in his comedy there are bits of truth, then embellishments. He has gone from sex/drug addict to a funny classy guy. I think that makes him sexy, never mind his appearance it not stereotypical Hollywood. Seth Rogan is another great example. Not classic Hollywood appearance, but still sexy because of personality.
WOW, what an honour to be given a title from a Terrorist Organization! Russel should be proud. PETA = EVIL! They don’t care about animals, they only want you to think that so they can raise money that they pocket. They use violent tactics on innocent companies to push there agenda and use false and outdated propaganda. When every other activist group calls PETA out for being violent and corrupted what does that say? The terror of PETA must end!
I also find him sexy, but more than that, super intelligent, so witty, funny and charming. And I should add, sweet. I think Katy Perry is a lucky woman.
Sexy? Peta must be either short on options or blind. He looks like a bad mix of used car salesman and boy band wanna be/never gonna be.
