Russell Brand and Katy Perry Russell Brand and Diplo sent well-wishes to Katy Perry last night. The British comedian advised fans to tune into the Super Bowl game between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots to see his ex-wife – who he divorced in 2012 after 14 months of marriage – give an ”amazing” half-time performance, while her former boyfriend gushed she had ”murdered” it after the 12-minute pop spectacular. Russell tweeted yesterday: ”Super Bowl may be baffling to Brits but half time show will be amazing. Good luck KP.”

And producer Diplo – whose on/off romance with the Roar hitmaker is believed to have recently ended – shared a picture from her set afterwards on PHHOTO and wrote: ”@Katyperry murdered it (sic)”. He also tweeted: ”Who’s w me? Team Katy Perry #sp49 (sic)”

Elsewhere, a host of other celebrities praised the Dark Horse star – who was joined by Lenny Kravitz and Missy Elliott – for her performance. Britney Spears tweeted: ”That half-time show! @katyperry you rocked it!! #HalftimeShowKatyPerry (sic)”

Into the Woods star Anna Kendrick tweeted: ”It’s official. Katy Perry is magic. All jokes aside, @katyperry your voice tonight was actually unreal. So were your boobs. That is also not a joke to me. (sic)”

Kevin Jonas simply wrote: ”@katyperry so impressed (sic)” Busta Rhimes and Timbaland were particularly delighted to see Missy join Katy on stage. Busta excitedly retweeted: ”#Facts bruh!! RT @Timbaland: now thats what Im talking about @MissyElliott u kilt dat (sic)”
