Russell Brand to replace Jim Carrey in comedy

By Tribute on July 31, 2012 | 3 Comments

Russell Brand is reportedly in talks to replace Liar Liar actor Jim Carrey in the upcoming comedy Pierre Pierre. The movie is set to be helmed by director Larry Charles – best known for his raunchy comedies Borat and Bruno (early reports said Juno‘s Jason Reitman would be directing but this has changed after script revisions). The film has also recently received a budget increase due to the big names attached to the project. The plot of the movie focuses on a nihilist Frenchman who steals the Mona Lisa and the troubles he encounters while attempting to transfer the priceless painting to London, England. Brand would of course star as the lead, if the rumors are confirmed. The change of actors comes as a surprise and seems very last minute since filming was set to commence this summer, however the Forgetting Sarah Marshall actor seems like a perfect choice to play the obnoxious and outrageous Frenchman. ~Stacy Raivich

Seems fine, if you excuse the fact that RUSSELL’S BRITISH!! Seriously, find someone who can do a french accent or is french for the part, not a British guy 😛
