For those of you who see Ryan Gosling as just a pretty face, think again. Although his looks don't hurt him, Gosling has also proven to be quite a talented actor -- with a variety of films including emotional drama The Notebook and romantic comedy Crazy, Stupid, Love -- producer and musician (he wrote and performed songs on a few of his films' soundtracks). His latest feat is taking on his first directorial project, in How to Catch a Monster, a film he also wrote. So far, Mad Men's favorite redhead, who also happens to be Gosling's Drive co-star, Christina Hendricks, has been attached to the project. The film is about a single mother of two (Hendricks), who's dragged into a dark underworld when one of her kids discovers a road leading from their vanishing city to an underwater village. How to Catch a Monster will be looking for buyers at this year's Toronto International Film Festival and is set to begin production next year. ~Morgan Bates

I don't get why everyone is so crazy about him. He's just another mediocre actor...and the plot of his new movie sounds a lot like something that's already been done before
Ted, you are entitled to your opinion, but another underrated actor, Gary Oldman was quoted as saying, that he, Ryan Gosling had it. I agree and he can't help it if he's easy on the eyes.
I hardly think he's "mediocre", especially with that body, face and charisma. I am certainly not star struck (beyond Ryan Gosling's chiseled body, great face and talents - like when he kisses Michelle Williams slowly in that elevator in Drive...) It's amazing how people who probably couldn't act their way of a bag (like me) have such critical opinions.
