Ryan Reynolds had to apologize when he destroyed props on the set of his upcoming movie. The 33-year-old Canadian plays the lead role in Rodrigo Cortes’ new movie Buried, about a U.S. contractor working in Iraq who is captured by the enemy. While shooting a scene in which his character is trapped in a coffin, he got frustrated when the director started yelling. “Rodrigo was yelling at me while I was trying to fix a flashlight, talk into a phone and sand was everywhere, I can’t breathe, I’m tired, it’s day 15 of the shoot…,” he confessed to Total Film magazine. “I saw red for 45 seconds or so. It all just got to me. I smashed everything inside the coffin.” Ryan says he begged the crew to forgive him. “A few moments later I began an exercise in profuse apology,” he revealed. Ryan was thankful that he only took his frustration out on props, and didn’t yell at any members of the crew because he respects them all so much. “If I’d directed it at any one crew member I couldn’t have lived with myself,” he added.

I like him, he’s so cool. I don’t think directors should be yelling at actors, it’s not productive. Likewise bosses. No one works any better when they’re being berated or criticized.
I agree!! I can’t wait to see Buried.
With all that stress and the circumstances the director should have known better. Just think of how he must have felt in that small tight space for so many hours. I mean shit i get pissed off when the person in front of me in a line pays in all pennies. lol
Always liked him in films. One thing I’d like to see him in is a very serious role where he acts seriously. He always seems to add some form of comedic aspect to his characters.
Lifeless I believe its because he’s naturally funny he doesn’t even have to try. I love Ryan he is a true canadian I mean you don’t hear others big actors apologizing after they have a meltdown….mel lol
He’s good example of Canadian politeness. On a side note he’s also a talented actor and this might the sort of movie that can have you watch one talented actor put you thru a major emotional rollercoaster ride and keep your eyes glues to the screen to watch it unfold. This could be ‘Castaway’ movie. I’d see it.
i can imagine playing a part like this would be stressfull and mentally exhausting.
It sounds like even watching that movie would be stressful and mentally exhausting!
RYAN ROCKS!!!
Working on a movie set isn’t all what it’s cracked-up to be. Most of these actors work hard. No director should be yelling at his crew…it only sets bad vibes and is ultimately reflected in the film results.
After National lampoon, Ryan has totally lost reality, he is now a Prima-dona…His attidtude shows in his roles and playing all those garbage love stories put him on the DO NOT WATCH list…Pretty boy looks only work so far, no personality stays..
I agree that this incident can easily be mis-understood….he’s such a great actor and is so polite when you see him in interviews…the environment is very claustophobic and many people would react in this situation …regardess of being an actor he’s a human being and that space would be BRUTAL to shoot…I know i’ve done some crazy roles and that one takes the cake…in a coffin?? wow…that’s TOUGH…I’m sure he was brilliant and I look forward to see the film…you go Ryan!! Cheers
I think he is amazing…and hearing this story makes me like him even more. I don’t think I could hold it together if my boss was yelling at me in front of everyone, let alone being trapped in a confined space and my equipment wasn’t working. I love that he didn’t take his frustrations out on the crew…maybe the director should start following that example!
