Ryan Seacrest’s stalker arrested

By Alexandra Heilbron on November 2, 2009 | 88 Comments

ryan_seacrest_stalkerChidi Uzomah, who received three years probation and was ordered to stay away from Ryan Seacrest after pleading guilty to attacking Seacrest’s bodyguard last month, was arrested on Friday at the studio where Ryan does his daily radio show. In both circumstances, Uzomah was carrying a knife. He is now being held on felony stalking charges and Seacrest’s lawyers, who believe Uzomah is dangerous, have obtained a restraining order that orders Uzomah to stay 100 yards away from Ryan, and he is not to go near Ryan’s home, workplace, or vehicle.

oh wow. thats pretty scary! i hope he gets jail time this time !

  2. Nancy • November 2, 2009 @ 8:46 PM

Yes, me too, mandee. He hasn’t been listening to what the courts have told him NOT to do so far so, he needs to be forcefully kept away.

  3. tributegirl • November 3, 2009 @ 8:59 AM

Wow, what is it about Ryan that has this guys feathers ruffled?

  4. gypsy • November 3, 2009 @ 10:23 AM

The courts should have put him in jail the first time!!!!That and a physiological evaluation, the dude looks mighty scary and deadly determined to do Seacrest serious harm!!! The system never gets it right, its no wonder people carry guns for protection!!! Restraining orders are not worth the paper there written on!!

  5. Jo-Anne • November 3, 2009 @ 3:57 PM

if “the system never gets it right” and I assume you must feel that way, because hey, you wrote it – why do you live here?

    try your luck elsewhere….

  6. Nancy • November 3, 2009 @ 5:06 PM

Well, I feel the same way about the system and I “live here” because unlike SOME people, I was born and raised here. I am Canadian. This is my country. Doesn’t mean I have to like everything in it and bow down to everyone in it or leave! So, stick that in your big pipe and smoke it!

  7. Nancy • November 3, 2009 @ 5:25 PM

Oh, I feel that I should add to this, that Ryan Seacrest lives and works in the U.S. and that is where this incident occurred. I believe (and THINK that Tributegirl meant) that the system fails in the majority, if not all, countries.

  8. mandee • November 3, 2009 @ 5:43 PM

nancy you mean gypsy 😛 also, why start a big fight over someones comment based on how the system doesnt do justice properly? some people really need to grow up and stop causing conflicts over peoples opinions on the article. SPEAKING OF WHICH — where IS your comment on the ARTICLE jo? or did you just come here to fight?

  9. Nancy • November 3, 2009 @ 5:59 PM

You’re right, mandee! It was Gypsy’s comment, Tributegirl’s was the one above it. Good thing you caught that before the “perfect” police found it or I’d never hear the end of it, LOL.

  10. tributegirl • November 3, 2009 @ 7:11 PM

LMAO, Nancy, when I first read your comment, I thought “wtf?”, although I agree with gypsy, the system has failed many times, and it often seems like the victim is the one who gets punished, not the offender.
I also live here because I was born and raised here, and I love my country, although I’m adult enough to admit that my country has flaws. No place is perfect, so I wonder where she thinks people who have differing opinions should go? Oh, never mind answering that one, I know where she’d send everybody who doesn’t agree with her!
mandee, the funniest thing is, if it was one of us that was trying (desperately) to start a fight over someones comment, she’d be the first person to say we didn’t comment on the article and should only comment on the subject at hand and leave everyone to have their own opinions!

  11. mandee • November 3, 2009 @ 7:30 PM

lmao, i know. thats why i said it 😛 how have you ladies been? i met with the surgeon today and she said im healing perfectly, sent me for some blood work to be sure my liver is still doing good and i will know by friday and thats it. im all done 😀

  12. tributegirl • November 3, 2009 @ 7:45 PM

Oh, mandee, that’s awesome! Although it sucks about the course, but what can a person do? So have you checked into any correspondence courses yet? How’s the job hunt going? Sorry if I’m being nosey, I just want to make sure everything is going well!

  13. mandee • November 3, 2009 @ 8:18 PM

job hunting is going soo bad, ive applied all over the place ALREADY !!! and nothing yet. unemployment says i cant do any type of schooling (not even correspondence) while im on ei. so i have to wait til thats done. ill keep you updated with any new developments.

  14. Nancy • November 3, 2009 @ 11:07 PM

Hahaha, yet ANOTHER Canadian flaw: ‘Don’t do any type of schooling while collecting employment insurance benefits’. Here’s another one: Panic the people about getting vaccinated for H1N1 and then run out of vaccine. Only in Canada, EH!

  15. mandee • November 4, 2009 @ 12:08 AM

lmao. i sure thought that was all pretty entertaining, to say the least. why pretend you are going to save us all when you have no intentions of sharing the vaccine? also, isnt the “high risk” category anyone thats HEALTHY? because those seem to be the ones dying from h1n1. and yes, whats up with that? you lose your job, through no fault of your own, while youre on the money YOU PAID INTO for unemployment you arent allowed to further your education to get a better paying job and stay off the welfare system? man, the world is cracked.

  16. gypsy • November 4, 2009 @ 2:36 AM

Hi girls..I hope you are all doing good,Nancy are you still feeling sick,I do hope your getting better.Mandee that’s a real drag about the school, the government just doesn’t make any sense at all. They want people to better themselves but wont help in any way.DONT give up Mandee things will get better.Tributegirl how are you doing these days, hows the family, healthy I hope.I haven’t been feeling to good for the past couple of weeks.Going to the clinic in the morning to get checked,my daughter went today apparently she has the H1N1 flu.Yesterday she was up here helping me fix my computer,it hit her real fast last night,so I’m definitely going in the morning cuz of my heart and all.F@@k down here they haven’t even started giving out any flu shots yet, not even the regular one that I usually get every year.I see the twit is trying to cause s##t,again, nothing new there. You know I’m proud of our country,it may be f@@ked-up but I believe there’s no better place to live.I think its the government that’s f@@ked,not the country.Poor Jo LOL, she cant grasp the difference between the system, and the country, like I CARE,(NOT).Crack off all you want Jo,your words don’t cut no ice with me!!hahaha.Pi$$ poor excuse for a human,!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Seacrest’s stalker is.LMAO.THAT TYPE DEFINATLY NEEDS MENTAL INTERVENTION.Take care girls, nice talking to the three of ya.Stay Healthy!!!!

  17. mandee • November 4, 2009 @ 3:49 AM

oh no!!! i wish your daughter (and you!) a very speedy recovery and the best of luck. please keep us updated !

  18. Nancy • November 4, 2009 @ 10:54 AM

Yes, thank you Gypsy, I am getting better FINALLY! It was just a cold but I hate being sick. I’m knocking on wood though because it could be so much worse. I hope your daughter fully recovers and that you don’t get it! I’m not ‘high risk’ and I’m also not one of the idiots who pretended to be and jumped in line ahead of those who are high risk. Things sure have changed, haven’t they? Remember when the men stood back and made sure that the women, children and elderly were safe first and foremost? Back when men were, well…men! Now, there are some who would seriously harm women and children so as they could get to the front of the line themselves and to hell with everyone else. We’re out of vaccine until further notice. Government had the pharmaceutical company stop production of the adjuvented vaccine in order to produce unadjuvented vaccine for pregnant women so, now we are at a stand still and the high risk group has not all been vaccinated because of the line jumpers. Hopefully everyone who wishes to be vaccinated gets the chance before it’s too late and the disease spreads like wildfire. I agree about loving my country but not having to even like those who run it. I think the way our government handles any kind of crisis, with all of it’s disorganization, deserves head shakes from all Canadians. We Canadians expect that our hard earned tax dollars will be spent in a very smart, organized way with the best interests of Canadians ALWAYS coming first. Anyone of you from Ontario remember the mess they made with the hydro rebates a few years back? How can so many people who make up a government for the people not know how to get organized? The right hand never knows what the left is doing and sometimes even, the left hand is un-doing what the right hand has already done…and that is not good!

  19. mandee • November 4, 2009 @ 1:04 PM

see, i was wondering why the would have even brought out ANY of the vaccine when they didnt have enough to go around. also, since i dont actually follow the news or read the newspaper, i wasnt aware that they needed to make a different one for pregnant women? why bring something out and specify WHAT people you think are worth saving? if they want to play that game then i guess they should know where everyone works and how much money they (the government) makes off of each one of them. i, personally, had no intentions of getting the vaccine. does anyone know any of the side effects or have any comments on if they planned on getting this vaccine or not? personally, i dont like taking anything for anything. the 2 times i DID get the FLU shot i was so sick i couldnt sit up for 2 days, i was so dizzy and throwing up and i had a really high fever and headaches. all kinds of bad things. and i dont believe for one second that if you get the shot and get sick its because you were already getting sick. as far as im concerned its just bs so they can cover their own a**es when people DO get sick. i have never had a flu before until i got the flu shot, both times i got it i was the sickest ive ever been. so, basically i have no intentions of getting any of these shots they are bringing out because i dont trust what they put in them or what harm they can do to you after you get them. how do we know 10 years from now its not going to cause liver or heart problems or what not?

  20. Jo-Anne • November 4, 2009 @ 3:30 PM

    14 comments generated and…
“your words dont cut no ice with me!!”

about sums it up for me too…

    not worth the wait…

  21. mandee • November 4, 2009 @ 4:02 PM

whatre you even talking about :S

  22. tributegirl • November 4, 2009 @ 4:59 PM

Good luck, gypsy, it can be a really bad flu. I got both shots last week and am sick now, but apparently it can take up to 10 days for the shots to take effect, and I am so exposed to it every day, I’ve been expecting to get sick. At least I’ve only got it mild compared to a lot of people.
mandee, when they inject the vaccine into you, it is a live virus they are putting into your body, although they have weakened it a lot, the idea is for your body to go on the attack and build antibodies to fight it. I’d say it doesn’t work quite that way with you, or maybe you are allergic to eggs? People who are allergic to eggs shouldn’t get a flu shot.
Nancy, the line skippers make me sick!!!

  23. mandee • November 4, 2009 @ 6:57 PM

i dont eat eggs so im not sure if im allergic. lactose intolerant, can that have any effect? so are you pro h1n1 vaccine then? do you think i should get it? im still kind of on the fence, i dont really WANT to get it, but im not sure if i NEED it.

  24. Nancy • November 4, 2009 @ 7:08 PM

Mandee, there’s something in the adjuvented one that the government didn’t think was safe for the fetus so they stopped production of it because they already had some and started producing the unadjuvented one for the expecting moms, but the W.H.O (World Health Organization) turned around and said that it is fine for pregnant women to get the adjuvented one. Classic case of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing, LOL. This is serious business. There is no room for errors. They seem to make the rules up as they go along. They should have sent all those vaccines straight into the schools.

  25. mandee • November 4, 2009 @ 7:13 PM

exactly why i dont know if im interested in the whole let them stab me with something they still dont know much about scenario. it sounds like no one has any idea whats going on, if this is a good or bad idea or what. i hate being an adult and having to make these decisions for myself, i have no idea.

  26. tributegirl • November 4, 2009 @ 7:21 PM

I agree, Nancy, I think it should have been done through the schools (doesn’t take long to get permission slips ready & sent out), and have clinics for preschoolers, pregnant people, and the immune compromised.
mandee, I’m not sure if being lactose intolerant would have anything to do with it, I’ve never heard of any problems with that, but it might be something to check in to. As far as the shots, yes, I am pro-vaccination, although I know there are some who can’t get them, some people are deathly allergic. In those cases, I think their loved ones should get the shots to try to help prevent that person from getting sick.
As far as you getting it, it is a personal choice, but you might want to discuss it with your doctor, the more information you have the better able you will be to make a decision. The website I have attached to my name is pretty good, and easy to navigate, you might want to check it out.

  27. Jo-Anne • November 4, 2009 @ 10:18 PM

bad enough for a self-professed “medical person” to not only be aware of correct flu info., but to actually advise others erroneously is frightening….

“when they inject the vaccine into you, it is a live virus they are putting into your body”…

The “flu shot” is an inactivated vaccine (containing killed virus) that is given with a needle, usually in the arm.

I have been disappointed and alarmed at the mis-information being given out on the internet to many people re the flu, but we all know anybody can post almost anything on the internet, be it truth or fiction….but when medical personnel can’t even get it right….scary….

  28. Jo-Anne • November 4, 2009 @ 10:22 PM

the nasal one FluMist (alternative to shot) contains live weakened virus….

people need to be educated properly on this…

  29. mandee • November 4, 2009 @ 11:45 PM

i never even heard of a nasal one? wow. and thanks to you both. im checking the site now tg !

  30. tributegirl • November 5, 2009 @ 9:58 AM

Jo, you’re right, you shouldn’t really be spreading mis-information like that.

  31. Jo-Anne • November 5, 2009 @ 11:15 AM

glad to see you agree with me on such a serious topic…

  32. gypsy • November 5, 2009 @ 6:16 PM

OK I believe I caught the play!!I,ll leave it at that!!!Mandee..Question, do you eat anything that contains eggs like cake, muffins, bread, pie, noodles, puddings you know any of the foods mentioned. If you do,and there not made just for you, then I would tend to believe your not allergic to eggs. There are so many products out on the store shelves that contain eggs you would be shocked,I learned that from a nutritionist.I went to the clinic but came back home, there were at least 80-100 people at both clinics, all coughing, sneezing on everyone else.I got antibiotics on repeat so I’m hiding in my apt, feeling a bit better.I talked to my daughter, only once since she came home, she told me she feels like shes dying.I keep going down to her apt at least once a day to see if shes OK,I only look through the windows, her dog barks and I hear her moaning.I cried so hard the past couple of days, cuz I should be looking after her.My ol man keeps telling me not to feel guilty, but I do.I phoned my doc and she freaked out on me,said not to go near her cuz if I don’t have it now, since I’m high-risk I,ll be in far worse shape than shes in.Its really hard to stay away cus shes all alone!ITS crazy down here I was told that there’s at least 300 people who have it,the only ones who got injected were the medical profession. They haven’t opened a clinic up to do the shots yet,now I heard there is none of the stuff left to give out.I read in the paper people were going to Hamilton to get a shot, but now that has been stopped. The government really f@@ked this one up,they sent a massive amount of the stuff overseas.Reason being they didn’t have enough vials left to put the stuff in B.S.Im still not sure if i,ll get that one or not but I REALLY WANT THE REGULAR FLU SHOT FOR SURE!!!!My doc says she gets her shipment by the 15Th of this month, but I cant get it if I’m sick. Man can you say mindf@@k,its a trip I’m sure everyone could do without!!!Just in-case you noticed my right side of computer not working, thats why there are no commas or question marks.LOL gotta cover all bases.Take care girls,STAY HEALTHY!!!!!

  33. Nancy • November 5, 2009 @ 8:25 PM

OMG Gypsy, I am so sorry for your daughter and for what you are going through. As a mom, I know. Poor thing is all alone and is guaranteed laid up in bed and not getting all the fluids she’s required because she’s too sick to get out of bed to get it. I sure hope she’ll be okay. It’s nice to have someone to help you and pamper you when you’re sick…especially mom. Mom always makes you feel safe and loved. I totally understand where you are coming from though. You’re stuck between a rock and a hard place. You have to think of yourself though because this disease is deadly. I most certainly don’t envy you! Take care of yourself and stay hidden away until you get your shot. My cold is much better. I didn’t complain much about it because it could have been so much worse. I made a HUGE slow cooker full of turkey soup, got as much rest as I could and used Vicks Vapo rub and Tylenol Cold. I can’t visit my parents until I’m better because my mom has COPD. She’s had both her flu & H1N1 shots but every time she catches a cold, she ends up in the hospital with pneumonia so we stay away when we’re sick. Hope everyone stays safe!!

  34. Carol • November 5, 2009 @ 8:50 PM

No H1N1 shot for me…and I’m fine with that…I am one who will elect to not get it, regardless of how many shots they have available. To be informed is important, but, despite what JoWanne states, there is a lot of information out there and like anything you have to go through it and try to figure out who has the best and most accurate info. Just becasue a dr wrote it doesn’t make it right.
As for Ryan Seacrest, that is pretty scary, and the thing that scares me about the system is this…we protect the bad guy. I do think for the most part the RCMP do what they can, but then once in front of the judge with their lawyers, everything our officers do to protect us tends to get undone. Sometimes I do think the RCMP has a thankless job, because they have to protect the rights of the idiots that are ruining our home towns and then what they do gets undone, in the courtroom, but these high paid lawyers and judges who are nothing more than a bunch of pathetic bleeding hearts. There is no justice in that.

  35. tributegirl • November 5, 2009 @ 9:06 PM

Agreed, Carol, sometimes the cops are not good, but I think all in all they do their best, but I also think a lot of their work gets undone in court, and that must be so frustrating.
gypsy, my father is allergic to eggs, but can eat baked goods, etc that have egg in them. Peanuts give me a migraine, but I can eat things with peanuts in them, including peanut butter. So if mandee eats baked goods with egg in them, she could still be allergic to eggs without being allergic to the baked goods. I really hope your daughter gets well soon, that totally sucks. Four of us here are sick, my two boys especially. My daughter has an immune system everyone wishes they had, she never seems to get sick, and I hope she will be able to avoid this.

  36. mandee • November 5, 2009 @ 9:35 PM

gypsy, so sorry to hear about your stress and your depression and your daughter! i couldnt imagine knowing i couldnt help if it was anyone in my family. my thoughts are with you for sure ! take care of yourself.

also, thanks for that post tg, i was wondering about that bc i do eat cake sometimes and sometimes breads but thats about it. i dont get sick, but then again when i do it could be the milk in them lmao. lactose intolerant remember? so sorry to hear about your family as well tg, hope everything is well. i generally have that same immune system, but this last year ive had the most sicknesses ive ever had (had bronchitis like, 4 times already, nasty colds, stomach virus). i hope this isnt a sign that my immune system gives up and doesnt wanna work for a living anymore. cant have us BOTH unemployed 😀

  37. mandee • November 5, 2009 @ 9:36 PM

sorry, meant i hope everything turns out well not everything IS.

  38. Nancy • November 6, 2009 @ 2:08 AM

OMG Tributegirl, do the 4 in your house have H1N1 or sick with colds, flu, etc.? I’d totally hate to be allergic to eggs or milk! I LOVE eggs! I LOVE dairy products (yoghurt, cheese, milk)! Can’t live without any of those. I have a pretty good immune system but my kids always bring that late fall cold home from school to me. One of the best things I ever did was quit smoking. Now, I can’t even stand the smell of cigarette smoke. It’s disgusting! I laugh at signs at the Dr. office, the Health Unit and the hospital which ask people not to wear perfumes. I wear perfume ALL the time, and I will keep wearing it EVERYWHERE until the day I can walk freely without having to smell cigarette smoke on people and in the air I breathe!

  39. tributegirl • November 6, 2009 @ 10:29 AM

Nancy, I took the boys to the clinic, it’s been a struggle getting my oldest son’s temp down to 100, and the little one was crying with head/stomach pain. It is the flu, and they said (not quite sure if I believe this or not because they aren’t testing anymore except in extremely severe cases) that h1n1 is the only flu around right now, that the seasonal flu hasn’t arrived yet. So I guess that’s it. They said we were doing everything right, but it’s too late for tamiflu, which I already knew, I just had to see if they might have any more info at the clinic than what I already had on how to make my kids more comfortable.
My oldest boy has been sick since Sunday evening, missed school all week, but I think this morning he might be taking a turn for the better, fingers crossed. Little one was sick Mon & Tues last week, then was fine, got sick again Wednesday afternoon, so he’s home from school now. I picked it up Tuesday, so I’m off work for a week. Their father always has sinus problems, so it’s hard to say when he picked it up, he never feels good anyway.
My daughter, I don’t know how she does it, but she doesn’t even have a sniffle! I really hope she will be able to avoid this, it’s not fun!

  40. Nancy • November 6, 2009 @ 11:00 AM

Jeeze, well, I hope you all get better…and quick! We have received more vaccine here but it is all to be dispensed to the ‘high risk’ people and to the universities…?? Why the universities, idk but, you would think they would learn after the mess they made with the first batch, eh? Meanwhile, my kids and I want the vaccine and have to (like so many others) keep waiting FOREVER! Hopefully our government doesn’t ever (after 2011) sign a contract with only 1 drug company!!! If they hadn’t done that, they could have 2 or 3 companies supplying this vaccine and everyone who wants to could get vaccinated! You know, I don’t even bother wasting my time to vote anymore…they are ALL stunned so, it doesn’t matter which one gets in! It’s all nothing but lies.

  41. mandee • November 6, 2009 @ 1:56 PM

so sorry youre all soo sick tg. i really hope your daughter doesnt get it also, and i hope you all have a speedy, full recovery !

  42. tributegirl • November 6, 2009 @ 3:56 PM

Thanks guys. My oldest boy is still pretty miserable, I think his advil had kicked in before I wrote on here earlier. It’s pretty exhausting, I’m sick myself, but also have 2 sick kids to take care of, and have to do lots of cleaning as I’m trying to get rid of as many germs as I can, plus up a lot at night with my own cough/fever, and with my little guy. But we’ll get through it all ok. My daughter is getting a little paranoid, she keeps her bedroom door shut all the time and tries to not touch anyone/anything!
Nancy, I don’t understand why they aren’t going to the grade schools before universities, but at least taking it to the universities is better than taking it to the prisons! Man, our gov’t has made quite a mess of this, and aren’t taking any steps to correct anything, just making it worse. Makes me wonder how they’d handle things if we had a terrorist attack or something. I have a feeling we’d all be on our own in that situation.

  43. gypsy • November 6, 2009 @ 4:55 PM

Tributegirl..Sorry to hear about the family,I pray you all get better soon. Its very hard on you with the kids and hubby being sick,I hope your getting enough rest yourself.Woman sure get the short end of the stick when everybody else are ill.TG why is it nobody got tamiflu,my daughter got that and antibiotics and prednisone. They stuck a long Q-Tip up inside her nose and took blood,to test for the H1N1 flu. They said that had to be done first before they gave her the meds. There’s still no shots available down here, this city sucks when it comes to medical issues.I have to wait till the 17Th to see my family Dr in Kitchener, maybe I can get the regular flu shot down there,I hope.Take care of yourself TG and the family, hope your better soon!!!

  44. tributegirl • November 6, 2009 @ 5:39 PM

Where we are, they are only testing the most severe cases, as for tamiflu, apparently it’s only any good if you take it within the first day or two of having symptoms, so my kids are long past that. Yes, women do get the short end of the stick! I’m exhausted! Just popped in here for a minute, now I’m going to lay down….after doing a bit more laundry & making some supper.
Good news though, my oldest son slept all day, and the fever has finally broken!

  45. mandee • November 6, 2009 @ 5:54 PM

uh oh guys. a few hours ago i got REALLY SICK so i went to bed, just checked the swine flu symptoms online, and i have basically all of them except the respitory failure and the fatigue/sleepyness (but i DID try to sleep for a few hours, but kept waking up because im soo cold i cant get warm, meanwhile im in thick fur pj bottoms, fur slippers, a sweater and was in a thick fur blanket and im usually overly hot when i sleep!) so i will probably take a few days off to see if i can feel better. i feel dizzy and not like im myself and headache…all kinds of things… 🙁 hope you all get better or stay well (for those of you that arent sick!)

  46. tributegirl • November 6, 2009 @ 9:03 PM

mandee, if you get to a clinic asap, maybe they will give you the tamiflu! If you wait too long, they probably won’t, so you might want to go now. Also, check your temp! Good luck!

  47. mandee • November 6, 2009 @ 9:30 PM

thanks, just thought id check the msgs quick. didnt get to a clinic, if im still sick tomorrow ill go…not like im workin and cant.

  48. tributegirl • November 7, 2009 @ 6:09 PM

Ok, my daughter just got checked, came down with flu today, and they wouldn’t give her tamiflu. NOW is the time for her to be taking it, but they said they are saving it for children with asthma. Sounds like they are stockpiling it and not giving it where it is needed. The kids with asthma, I have no problem giving it to them, but other people need it too, she went in early because she knew she had to in order to get tamiflu, and they said no.

  49. mandee • November 7, 2009 @ 6:27 PM

great, i didnt end up going bc ive never been one for going to the drs, and turns out they close at 3 on saturdays? i found out at 5 🙁 i thought i was starting to feel better, but after about 20 mins from my post saying i was feeling better, i got just as sick. u have a fever of 39.9 not sure how high that is (only know f) but my dad says its high, also every time i go to the drs they say mine is lower than it should be.

  50. mandee • November 7, 2009 @ 6:28 PM

sorry they wouldnt give her anything by the way. also, that “great” was clearly sarcasm…

  51. gypsy • November 8, 2009 @ 1:13 AM

Tributrgirl…That is totally ridiculous not giving your daughter the tamiflu. Now what do they expect her to do suffer for 7 to 10 days that’s BS! Isn’t there any other clinic she could go to? When my daughter was at the pharmacy for 2 hours she told me it took so long cuz everybody got the tamiflu and antibiotics scripts.Their not holding back the medicine from anyone here, talk about being bias total bulls@@t if you ask me!!Perhaps she should go to the hospital,or you call the family Dr, he could call it in to the pharmacy.good-luck TG.YOU CERTAINLY NEED IT!!Take Care!!!

Mandee..If I remember correctly your temp is 102F THAT’S HIGH!!Please get to a clinic or hospital asap, sound’s like you have the H1N1 flu!!You should get into a cool shower for a few minutes and take regular tyenol to bring it down OK!!

  53. tributegirl • November 8, 2009 @ 3:11 PM

That’s about where my oldest son’s temp was for about 3 days, I had to give him lots of advil just to get it down to 100 degrees. Finally got it down and it went too far, that’s when he ended up shaking violently from being so cold, that lasted a couple hours. He’s been sick a full week now,is doing a lot better, the temp is normal finally, but still is weak and has a really bad cough. My little guy has been sick since Wednesday, temp is pretty good, coughs some, but keeps napping and waking with headache, but at least they are on the mend.
My daughter, man, I wish everyone was like her, she’s just (so far anyway) got very mild symptoms, she’s doing exceptionally well, thankfully. I hope it keeps up for her!
Their father & I both still have cough, but are doing really well now.
This is a weird flu, could be anywhere from a couple days to 2 weeks, could be extremely mild or extremely bad, there’s just no predictability with this one.
Everyone, take care of yourselves, & drink LOTS of fluids!

  54. mandee • November 8, 2009 @ 5:52 PM

i was worried that because my terrible symptoms were only 2-3 days that maybe i didnt have the swine flu maybe it was something else. i didnt know you can get it for only a couple of days. i still really genuinely believe i had the swine flu. i posted on the britney spears article about my trip to the clinic. ive been finding it very very hard to drink a lot. still having issues with trying to eat, but im going to make myself eat anyway in a few mins because im really hungry. sorry about how sick your kids have been tg. i would keep a really close eye on your daughter though because i heard sometimes less symptoms can mean its more dangerous. i slept a lot yesterday, i was up for maybe 10 hours combined all day and night off and on. maybe not even that much actually. hope you all get better soon and yes, take care of yourselves and your families !

  55. gypsy • November 9, 2009 @ 2:50 AM

TG..I WANTED TO ASK YOU, DO YOU GET SICK WHEN YOU GET THE H1N1 SHOT!!!ALSO IF YOU’VE HAD THE H1N1 FLU, DO YOU STILL NEED TO GET A SHOT?

  56. mandee • November 9, 2009 @ 2:53 AM

thought i was getting better, and some of me is…but now i cant keep ANY FOOD down AT ALL. i have heaved so much that the whites of my eyes are all bloodshot, think i may have broken a few of the blood vessels in my eyes. (my sisters done that before from heaving too hard). and it IS hard and it hits out of no where, one min im fine the next BAM im throwing up. anyone else have this sudden throwing up with no warning? also, when i cough now im getting dizzy as soon as im done coughing. ive also had a few times today when i feel like i cant get enough oxygen. but remember, the clinic said im fine? as if. this is why i dont go to the doctors !

  57. tributegirl • November 9, 2009 @ 6:44 PM

gypsy, I got the shot and didn’t get sick from it, but I did get sick from my kids being sick. But I wasn’t nearly as bad as my boys. Daughter is still sick, but doing a lot better than the boys. All 3 stayed home today, and will tomorrow too.
Not sure if people are getting sick from the vaccine, and actually I was wondering myself if you need the shot after being sick with it, I haven’t seen ANY data on that at all.
mandee, try to keep your fluids up, but don’t force yourself to eat. Your body will tell you what it needs, eat what/when you feel like.

  58. gypsy • November 9, 2009 @ 11:46 PM

TG..According to the site on the net,if you’ve had the H1N1 flu you don’t need the vaccination.I guess the actual flu gives your body the antibodies that the shot puts into ya. What puzzles me is if you were not tested properly, and the Dr gave you the tamiflu and antibiotic’s because he just figured you had it,what happens if you really were not infected?? I know down here that after 57% came back testing positive, the Dr’s stopped testing the people and just gave them the medicine!!I haven’t found any answers to that question yet.I think I’ll phone that Telehealth Ontario and see what they have to say.I’m glad your family are starting to feel better, hope your daughter doesn’t get as sick as your son’s.By the time their all feeling good, you’re gonna need a week to relax and get some much needed rest!!Take Care.

  59. gypsy • November 10, 2009 @ 12:48 AM

Well according to Telehealth Ontario if you are not a confirmed (LAB TEST)case, you still need to get the H1N1 Vaccine, but you can’t have a fever when you go to get it.So I guess alot of people are gonna have to get it after they are feeling better,if they didn’t get tested before the treatment.I’m getting one for sure!!!!!!

  60. mandee • November 10, 2009 @ 2:16 AM

on the vincent cassel article i made a comment about my second trip to the clinic. is h1n1 and swine flu different? or is it the same?

  61. Nancy • November 10, 2009 @ 10:43 AM

I believe H1N1 is the re-name for swine flu. I had heard that people were boycotting pork due to the name but that it has nothing to do with pork so they re-named it H1N1. One reason anyways, there’s possibly more. It makes a better lab name too as H1N1 rather than swine flu. LOL. I sure hope my kids and I don’t get it and now there’s a freaking mumps outbreak too. My kids have had their vaccinations for that in order to get into school and I had mine many moons ago, LOL. I’m not holding my breath on even getting a chance for that H1N1 vaccine this year…darn government! Hope all goes well with all of your sicknesses and is your daughter getting a little better now, Gypsy?

  62. mandee • November 10, 2009 @ 3:09 PM

ahh, thanks thats what i thought as well nancy, that they just renamed it. i wasnt sure. my sister and brother have had this same sickness every since i got it, my brother went to the clinic with me but we went in separately and he was told his is swine flu as well. so im sure thats what my sister has. luckily my niece doesnt have it yet, or anyone else. really really hope she doesnt get it !!! take care, just make sure to wash your hands a LOT lol.

  63. gypsy • November 10, 2009 @ 3:43 PM

Nancy..She is starting to feel a bit better,no more fever but still has runny nose and horrible cough. I gave her a can of Lysol yesterday, suppose to kill H1N1 virus in air and on surfaces.Well she bagged up dirty laundry, emptied all garbage can’s,changed sheets on couch and bed sprayed every room, then started to feel weak and sweaty.I told her to get in cool shower, heat up Wong-tong soup get a jug of juice and lay back down. She kept me on speaker phone,I heard her wheezing and hacking the whole 10 minutes it took to do the above stuff.I warned her not to overdo it just cuz her body wasn’t aching like it had the first 4 days, but you can’t really get better unless you get rid of the germs hanging around.I stayed on the phone until she was done what she had to do,just to make sure she was OK.When she put in a movie and was all set up with a jug of juice and the soup, kleenex and halls I told her to rest, and let her go.I can’t go near her but at least I can make sure nothing happened while she was up! Now I’ve gotta find another can of Lysol for my place, every store the ol-man went to is sold out!!!It’s in huge demand down here as its the only thing that kills the virus and with at least 75% of the population that does have H1N1 the stores are all selling out.The ol-man just left to find another can for us and shoppers drug mart has those cup of noodles on sale 1 case of 12 for 4.99,so he’s gonna get 3 cases,2 chicken and 1 beef. That will be easy for her to put together when she’s hungry, the beef is for him as I’m still not feeling better yet.I was gonna get the shot this morning but I found out they won’t give it to ya if your sick.Found that out when I called telehealth late last night.F@@ken bummed me out I finally get the guts to get it and then they won’t give it,hahaha It will take me awhile to get my nerves up, to go get it when I can.I think it’s a sign I shouldn’t get it LOL.If you can I would suggest getting the Lysol spray ASAP before the shelf’s are empty.Talk about Panic In Swine Park,a person could make double their money if they got a few cases of it,lmfao but its true!!!!!Nancy isn’t there a city near you that has the vaccine you and the kid’s can go to? People are coming here from Hamilton and Toronto even from the state’s (they have to pay cash for it)but at least their getting the shot!!Just don’t go out unless you really have to,so you don’t end up with it. Are your kid’s in school? I really hope you are able to avoid it,and get the shot real soon!Take Care AND STAY HEALTHY!!!!!!

  64. gypsy • November 10, 2009 @ 3:58 PM

mandee…Drink plenty of fluid’s,nibble on cracker’s and maybe try some cup of noodle’s if really hungry.DON’T FORGET TO GET LYSOL SPRAY!!!I feel like a f@@ken commercial for the product!LOL but it’s true, gets rid of the germ’s so you won’t be breathing them back in,Makes sense to me!!!I must sound like a nut LMAO!!Take Care!!!and GET BETTER SOON!!

  65. Nancy • November 10, 2009 @ 6:23 PM

See! Now that sh!t p!sses me off!!! I can’t go somewhere else to get the shot because they are only giving them to the high risk people and I’m not the type of person who would go there and lie just to get it and basically take from someone who is high risk and needs it. That’s deifinitely not me! But, these people coming over from the US and paying for the vaccine is BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That vaccine is for us! For Canadians! We Canadians are all sitting here, waiting for it because they stopped production of it (so they say! They probably went and SOLD a big batch of it to the US!! Wouldn’t surprise me one bit!) to make the stuff for the pregnant women. They have run out I don’t know how many times and yet, here we are…still f@cking waiting…and waiting…and waiting…and they are selling it by dose to the Americans?!!!! OMFG! I’m livid from hearing that!

  66. tributegirl • November 10, 2009 @ 7:29 PM

I’ve not heard of that happening at all, but I have heard of Canadians going south and paying $30 for the shot, when in fact they might not be getting what they think they’re getting. Apparently they think they’re getting the h1n1 vaccine, but many aren’t (yes, after paying $30!), but I haven’t heard exactly what they are getting.
Also, Afghanistan has asked us to supply them, so far our gov’t has said no as we don’t have enough for our own people, but I bet they will change their tune, and we will still go without for others.

  67. gypsy • November 10, 2009 @ 7:52 PM

I read on another site that they made so much there were no vials to put it in,so they sent a whole bunch overseas!

  68. tributegirl • November 10, 2009 @ 7:59 PM

gypsy, I hadn’t read that! What site did you see that on? I wonder how they shipped it?

  69. Nancy • November 10, 2009 @ 8:00 PM

Gypsy…for once I won’t say it on here but what I am thinking contains a whole bunch of “BEEPS!”

  70. gypsy • November 10, 2009 @ 8:29 PM

Nancy-TG…Google H1N1 vaccine shipped overseas.THERES A WHOLE LOTTA STUFF ON THERE FROM 60 MIN AND OTHERS ABOUT HOW THEY MADE SO MUCH HERE, THAT THEY HAD TO SEND A WHOLE LOT OVERSEAS!!!WHEN I PHONED THE CLINIC DOWN HERE THEY SAID THE H1N1 IS BEING GIVEN TO ANYBODY.THE REGULAR FLU SHOT IS GIVEN TO HIGH RISK OVER 65YRS ONLY AT THIS TIME!!!

  71. Nancy • November 10, 2009 @ 9:20 PM

Not here. Right now, we are out of vaccine AGAIN and all H1N1 clinics are closed until further notice, when they get another shipment of vaccine. Every time they get it though, it all goes to people who are “supposedly” high risk…and since it isn’t given out by the family physicians, they have no clue who IS or ISN’T high risk. You just fill out a paper and on it they ask if you are high risk. That’s it. When they go to inject you, they may ask what is wrong with you that you are high risk but people could say anything and they can prove nothing. So….we wait…and wait….and…hey, it’s either wait or lie.

  72. gypsy • November 10, 2009 @ 9:48 PM

Nancy..do you or your kids have asthma or bronchitis. That is under high risk here,ALSO MY OL-MAN SAYS THERES SUPPOSE TO BE A SHIPMENT RECEIVED TOMORROW ACROSS ONTARIO,TO ALL CLINICS, HE’LL BE WATCHING THE NEWS TONIGHT TO SEE WHERE IT GOES.I’LL BE ON HERE TO LET YA KNOW OK!

  73. Nancy • November 10, 2009 @ 10:09 PM

Sounds good. Definitely let me know if you guys hear and nope, we’re all healthy as horses, LOL.

  74. mandee • November 10, 2009 @ 10:53 PM

i get chronic bronchitis. i was able to eat a bit today, so that was good. i hope everyones doing well. im still dizzy and sleepy and stuff so sorry this is all i said. take care all, thanks for the advice gypsy.

  75. gypsy • November 11, 2009 @ 10:55 AM

Nancy..nothing was said on the news last night,or this morning. Will keep you posted on any new development’s.The ol-man just went to the nurse’s for his wound’s to get re-bandaged,he’s gonna ask them if they know anything new on the H1N1 situation.I’ll let you know if they heard of any new shipment’s being sent out.OK!

  76. gypsy • November 11, 2009 @ 11:00 AM

    Mandee..glad to help anytime I can.Your-welcome!!Take Care!!

  77. Nancy • November 11, 2009 @ 6:06 PM

Well, we received another small shipment of the H1N1 vaccine here today but they have made it very clear that it is all for the high risk group ONLY. I mean, how much freaking longer until they finally get to the rest of us ‘average joes’?? It sure doesn’t pay to be an honest person, I’ll tell you that much! I blame the government though. They should have dispensed the vaccine to the family physicians…so that they could then in turn dispense it to their patients as needed, high risk category first. At least that way, people wouldn’t have been able to lie about being high risk just to get the vaccination.

  78. gypsy • November 12, 2009 @ 11:48 AM

Nancy..I went to the clinic yesterday, got a really nice female doc, according to her they are giving the H1N1 shot’s to anyone who asks for it.I got mine, didn’t have to fill out any paperwork,no questions asked. This doc said all the Dr’s at both urgent care clinic’s are giving them out to anybody who wants one,as long as you don’t have a fever.According to her the Dr’s at both clinic’s aren’t listening to the government, cuz they screwed up so bad and it makes no sense to give it out to certain age groups as the rest of the family can bring it home, and spread it around. That makes sense to me,as for the people who are getting treated if their not being tested, they have to go and get the shot anyway.I was told that if you did get treated that the person should go back and demand the test, so they don’t have to get the shot.I guess they can tell if you have the virus antibodies in your system, even if you have been treated or diagnosed without being tested.I found out there’s more shipment’s coming in today and tomorrow to the urgent care clinic’s down here! The special H1N1 clinic is also getting some shipment’s on both days.According to the radio this morning, there will be shipment’s going out across Ontario.I talked to the receptionist and she said ,the best way is to just show up at a clinic with your family and ask for the shot, she hasn’t heard of anyone being turned away at all.You may wanna give it a try,it can’t hurt!!!!OH YA the only question the Dr’s ask is ,are you allergic to EGG’S!!Take Care!!

  79. mandee • November 12, 2009 @ 12:54 PM

let me know if it makes you sick. i dont care what they say, the flu shot made me deathly ill and is one of the main reasons im not really considering getting this vaccine (the other, of course, being i have no idea what effects this could cause for me down the road since it was such an out of nowhere vaccine!)

  80. Nancy • November 12, 2009 @ 5:03 PM

Well here, they put it on the news when they get some and they specifically say “It is NOT for the general public. It is for the high risk group ONLY until further notice.” Next thing you know, they broadcast that they’ve run out and all H1N1 clinics are closed until further notice. Then, they get a new batch and say AGAIN “It is NOT for the general public. It is for the high risk group ONLY until further notice.” So, then I’m like, “BEEP!!!!!” My mom is high risk. She has COPD and she did get in for her shot. She had to fill out the form and on it, it asked if she was high risk. Then when the person went to administer the shot, they asked her what made her high risk so she told them and then they gave her the shot. She told me last night that she heard on the news as well, where some places here in Canada(Idk if they are private clinics or what) are selling the injections to whoever has the money. Stupid governemnt…and I don’t care what anyone says or WHO works for them! STUPID GOVERNMENT!

  81. Nancy • November 12, 2009 @ 5:05 PM

Oh, I don’t know where you work Tributegirl but if you do work in a hospital or whatever, I’m not blaming you in any way, just so you know, LOL. I’m blaming all the dumb-dumbs at the top of the government chain!

  82. gypsy • November 12, 2009 @ 5:15 PM

Mandee…No redness at injection site,or swelling,a bit of tenderness in the upper arm,Dr said that may happen as it did her arm.Nothing else,no sickness of stomach,no headaches,no body aches,NOTHING,and I got the shot at 11.30am yesterday!I WAS PETROFIED, all for nothing, the Dr said the media is making all the people afraid, and there’s no reason for it.Now I wish I’d have had it sooner, would of saved my stomach allot of pain, from the worrying!hahaha I’m a big suck when it comes to my health, and pain doesn’t help my ulcer’s any, when I worry OR my heart.I also have asthma and get bronchitis real easy,so I’m glad I took the plunge, next week I get the regular flu shot,oh ya I took 2 regular strength tylenol 1 hour before I got the shot.Just in-case LOL !!!

  83. tributegirl • November 12, 2009 @ 5:48 PM

LOL, don’t worry Nancy, none of us at work think this is working well at all, we are all very upset at how this situation is being handled. Actually, we are all wondering how our lovely government would handle something like a terrorist attack, since they have proven they can’t even handle a flu! It is just sickening how they are handling this, it’s a disgrace, it was handled a h*ll of a lot better than this back in 1918!

  84. gypsy • November 13, 2009 @ 1:15 AM

Nancy..I never went to a H1N1 clinic to get my shot, just went to the regular urgent care clinic.I don’t know if you have any where you live? We have 2 opened down here so the people who are seriously hurt or ill can go to the hospital, and it isn’t packed with people who have sore throat’s, ear aches, sprains and non life threatening illness.I talked to my younger son’s wife in Kitchener today, and according to her the regular clinic’s up there are getting the vaccine also and giving it to anybody who wants it,but the H1N1 clinic’s are only doing high risk.Their regular clinic’s are not making you fill out any paper’s or asking any question’s either.I heard on the news’s tonight that the government expects all Canadians to have the shot by the end of December, which in my opinion is BS.Then in Jan the regular flu shot’s will start,f@@k by that time there’s gonna be a whole s@@t load of sick people all over the place.I go back to the regular clinic on the 25Th OCT to get the other flu shot.Nancy it may be worth the drive for you and the kid’s to take, just to get the shot?? It’s just a suggestion, and really none of my business so please don’t get pi@@ed at me OK!!My side-kick went out to get some groceries today, and went and got the shot,he was dead-set against it,but changed his mind after I got mine. You and the family take care Nancy!!

  85. Nancy • November 13, 2009 @ 10:01 AM

Thanks Gypsy, hahaha. I’m not going to get mad at you! Yes, we have the after-hour clinics here too but they are just for the group of non-emergencies like you specified and for those who have NO family Dr. The H1N1 shots are not given out there nor at the main hospitals at all. In order to get the H1N1 vaccination, we need to go to the special H1N1 clinics which the Health Unit sets up, and they set up several at a time they just keep running out of vaccine. They reported last night though, that they are expecting another small batch of the vaccine for the high-risk category and that shortly after that they will start vaccinating the general public….should be an interesting rat race! LOL.

  86. gypsy • November 13, 2009 @ 1:45 PM

Nancy, some people tend to get pi@@ed-off when someone gets into their business,so I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t crossing any line’s LOL.I hope the vaccine comes in sooner than anticipated, for you and the kid’s Take Care!!

  87. mandee • November 13, 2009 @ 3:10 PM

i dont think you guys saw the other comment i made on one of the other articles. now my niece has all the symptoms of swine flu. she even looked it up and is now crying all the time thinking shes going to die. terrible terrible.

  88. gypsy • November 14, 2009 @ 12:33 PM

Mandee..If she goes to the clinic, just remember Dr Judy said its every patients right to ask to be Lab tested. Then at least you’ll know for sure,if it comes back positive she won’t have to get the H1N1 shot,as her body will already have the antibodies in it.For all of your family who didn’t get lab tested if they don’t do it now, you’ll have to get the shot,if you want to be safe!!It only takes 2 minute’s,no blood work, they only stick a long Q-tip in the nose, and send it to the lab!!It’s only a suggestion Mandee,I’m not a professional, the choice is yours and your family’s.I hope I don’t sound like I’m pushing my views onto anyone, just passing on what the Dr.told me!! Take Care OK!!!
