Sarah Hyland files restraining order against High School Musical star

Modern Family star Sarah Hyland has filed a temporary restraining order against her ex-boyfriend Matt Prokop over alleged physical and verbal abuse. According to a report from TMZ, the court documents filed by Hyland says Matt, who appeared in an episode of Modern Family and has also had roles in High School Musical 3: Senior Year and the TV series Hannah Montana, physically choked her and threatened her. “His grip was so tight that I could not breathe or speak. I was scared and in fear for my life,” Sarah wrote in court documents obtained by TMZ.
The documents mention several instances of abuse between Matt and Sarah. Sarah says she bought Matt, who came to Los Angeles in pursuit of an acting career at age 16 from his native Texas, a plane ticket to go back home, but when he saw she’d enlisted the help of Modern Family co-star Julie Bowen, he threw a lighter at her. Other incidents include a threat to set her house on fire and threats against her dog. “[He] relentlessly bombarded me with vile, threatening and emotionally disturbing texts and voice mails including his own suicide threats,” Sarah wrote.
Matt was recently released from a rehab facility he entered in August. In the document, Sarah says the facility director advised her to get the restraining order.
Sarah’s attorney released a statement to The Daily News regarding the incident: “The documents filed speak for themselves. Out of respect for the court, the process and all parties, I have advised Ms. Hyland not to comment on the matter. We request that you respect the parties’ privacy during this time.”
There has been no word from Prokop or his lawyer’s regarding the restraining order or abuse claims. ~Kelly Townsend

She bought him a plane ticket so he could go home? How freaking controlling is that? Did he express a desire to go home? Probably not, he’s in L.A. enjoying an acting career that began before he met her. There’s more to this story – I have a feeling she’s skewed it to make him look like a bad guy when he’s probably just frustrated by her bullshit. He should get away from her and stay away from her. She’s bad for him and he’s bad for her.
Another case of one career taking off and another one going nowhere…people have killed for less. Love and hate are two faces of the same coin and addiction only adds fuel to the fire. If the Rehab Center advised her to take out the order, then obviously the young man still has issues.
That’s nuts. She’s more normal than that dude. Choking her out is not ok. End of story. She bought him a ticket outta town cuz he’s a nutcase and obsessed. She should have him watched and get some security.

Yes, I agree Zorro, but her buying him a plane ticket is absurd. If you were dating someone and they bought you a plane ticket to get you the hell out of the town they live in, how pleased would you be? Or would you say to hell with you, you don’t tell me where to live. It was a stupid move on her part. If she wants him out of her life, her best option is to tell him to leave her alone and then get a restraining order, and if necessary, a bodyguard. Giving him a plane ticket back home is just going to piss him off, and if she constantly does things like that to piss him off (whether intentional or not, but how could that not have been intentional, it’s a total slap in the face), it’s not excusable that he lets his anger get out of hand, but you can see how by doing that she’s basically poking an angry bear with a stick and how smart is that?
Ryan, I had no idea you knew them personally so you know that she bought him a plane ticket home to get rid of him. OR maybe he expressed interest in going home and she was trying to be nice.
Slap in the face, poking the bear……get this straight Ryan there is NEVER EVER a reason to choke a women and if you think that it is her fault in ANY way then there is something seriously wrong with you!! Get our A@&$ out of your head.
