Yesterday, a federal judge sentenced Christopher Chaney to 10 years in prison. His crime? Prosecutors allege that between November 2010 and October 2011, Chaney hacked into numerous celebrity email accounts, including those of Scarlett Johansson, Mila Kunis, Christina Aguilera. It was revealed in court that Chaney is responsible for putting the nude photos Johansson took of herself intended for her then-husband Ryan Reynolds on the web; an act Johansson says made her “truly humiliated and embarrassed.” Aguilera also spoke out against Chaney — who was ordered to pay $76,000 in restitution — saying, “There is no compensation that can restore the feeling one has from such a large invasion of privacy.” Chaney, 35, was arrested in 2011 but initially pleaded not guilty, later striking a plea deal with prosecutors. In March 2012, Chaney plead guilty to nine counts, including charges for wiretapping, identity theft and unauthorized access and damage to a protected computer. Prosecutors asked that Chaney receive a six-year sentence. However, the judge decided Chaney deserved a harsher punishment because he continued to cyber stalk celebs even after police first confiscated his computer. ~Brandon Bastaldo
