Screen Actors Guild Nominees – Trumbo leads the pack

Screen Actors Guild awardsAnna Faris and Anthony Mackie announced the nominees for the Screen Actor Guilds awards this morning from the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood.

The recently-released Trumbo, which screened at the Toronto International Film Festival, leads the nominations with three – Bryan Cranston is for best actor, Helen Mirren for best supporting actress, and the entire cast for best cast ensemble.

The two stars of Steve Jobs (Michael Fassbender, Kate Winslet) and the two leads of The Danish Girl (Alicia Vikander, Eddie Redmayne) received nominations, as did Leonardo DiCaprio for his role in the upcoming film The Revenant.

Other notable nominees including Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara for their roles as women who fall in love in the 1950s in Carol and Brie Larson and child actor Jacob Tremblay for their powerful performances as the captives of a kidnapper in Room.

Comedienne Carol Burnett will receive the 52nd Annual SAG Life Achievement Award. The winner will be announced during a televised ceremony from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on January 30.
