Sharon Osbourne may not return to America’s Got Talent

By Tribute on July 26, 2012 | 10 Comments

On Tuesday, Sharon Osbourne took NBC by surprise when she admitted she was ready to leave the show America’s Got Talent. Osbourne tweeted fellow judge Howard Stern yesterday saying, “Money is not the reason I’m not returning to [the show], it’s because…” Her tweet trailed off and NBC has given no immediate comment. Only in a meeting with the Television Critics Association did NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt admit that Osbourne’s message was unexpected. “This is coming out of context and sort of spontaneously,” he said, “and we don’t even know what’s going on.” America’s Got Talent is currently in its seventh season. Osbourne is the show’s longest serving judge, joining the panel in its second season in 2007. Howard Stern and Howie Mandel are the other two judges. Like Osbourne, Stern is also unsure of his return. However, in response to that, NBC entertainment president Paul Telegdy said, “We’d be delighted if Howard wants to come back.” ~Isabelle Khoo

She’s the only judge who isn’t irritating beyond belief. I’m not sure I’ll watch it next year, unless they pick someone amazing.

I agree. Sharon makes the show. If she leaves, I bet the show will lose ratings just as American Idol did when Simon left.

She speaks her mind but usually in a nice way. Best AGT judge and I agree with Alice, they will lose ratings if she leaves.

This show isnt even that great anyway. Probably wont be a big deal if she leaves

You can only do something for so long. If she’s bored with it, she’s bored with it. Shame for the fans.

    don’t really care.

Maybe Sharon finally realized what a dumb show this is and came to her senses.

Surprisingly this show is actually doing quite well and tied with Hell’s Kitchen and Master Chef for top ratings. I guess we won;t know how Sharon’s leaving will affect the show until she actually does

Pardon my ignorance but, what is Sharon known for other than being Ozzy’s wife… is she an actress, singer, dancer, etc…I am at a loss for what great talent she is known for other than Ozzy’s yellin’ “Sharon, Sharon”…!!

Eleanor, actually she helped develop musicians for a record label back in the day. I believe her father was the owner of the label and from what I recall she discovered some famous people.
Either way most of the acts are getting regurgitated anyway..maybe the show should be only once every couple years like Last Comic Standing.
