Drea De MatteoSopranos star Drea de Matteo lost her apartment yesterday in what is believed to have been a gas explosion in New York City’s East side, leaving 19 people injured, five of whom were members of the New York Fire Department. Five of the injured were treated at the scene and 14 were taken to hospital, with four in critical condition.

The actress, who will be starring next in Shades of Blue with Jennifer Lopez, called the apartment on 2nd Avenue home for 22 years.

The explosion caused four buildings to catch fire, with three of them collapsing.

Drea, 43, posted photos on Instagram of her building up in flames from across the street at the time of the scary scene.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said, “Our thoughts and prayers are with every one of them and their families. Of course, we are praying that no other individuals are injured and there are no fatalities.”

Fashion designer Charlotte Ronson once lived in the same building as Drea and took to social media to express her condolences to the residents, writing, “R.I.P. 123 2nd Avenue.” ~ Suzanne Coolen
