Starsky & Hutch star fears irrational fan

Paul Michael Glaser, former star of the 1970s TV police drama Starsky & Hutch, has requested a restraining order in Los Angeles Superior Court against an “irrational” fan. The unnamed woman, who used to run Glaser’s official site, is so obsessed that she followed the actor to England when he was performing in a stage pantomine at London’s 02 Arena. She wound up seeing the play 23 times. He claims she’s sent him more than 500 emails over the past two years in which she exhibits “both a rational and very irrational side.” He also said in the documents: “I am about to start a tour with my book, and given [the woman’s] behavior, I fear for my safety.” He’s asking that the woman stay at least 200 yards away from himself and his family. Glaser has known his share of tragedy — his first wife Elizabeth Glaser died several years after receiving an emergency blood transfusion containing HIV following the birth of their first child, Ariel. Unfortunately, before Elizabeth was aware she’d been infected, she passed the virus to her daughter through breast milk. Ariel sadly passed away in 1988 at age seven. They also have a son, Jake (pictured above with Paul), who is also HIV positive. Glaser married second wife Tracey Barone in 1996 and they have a daughter together, but they have since filed for divorce.  Since Elizabeth’s death, Paul has been a chairman for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.

   I loved PMG on S&H when I was a kid. He seems like such a sweetheart and I’m so sorry about what happened to his wife and daughter.

   I love his show, thank god for DVDs now so that we can watch the shows we loved as kids now anytime we want.

   I’ve ALWAYS LOVED STARSKY & HUTCH!!!!!!! I have kept up on them when I could get truthful info on them. PAUL MICHAEL GLASER & DAVID SOUL will ALWAYS have a SPECIAL place in my HEART!!!!!!! Any time I can find the repeats of the show I will watch!!!!!!! The Yellow Rose as well!!!!!!!
