Rock star Steven Tyler has announced in a press release that he's leaving American Idol in order to focus more on his band, Aerosmith. In his statement to the press, Tyler declared, “After some long... hard... thoughts… I've decided it's time for me to let go of my mistress American Idol before she boils my rabbit. I strayed from my first love, Aerosmith, and I'm back -- but instead of begging on my hands and knees, I've got two fists in the air and I'm kicking the door open with my band.” Tyler has been a part of American Idol for Season 10 and 11 with fellow judges Randy Jackson and Jennifer Lopez. Creator and executive producer, Simon Fuller comments, “If you had told me 10 years ago [Steven Tyler] would be a judge on American Idol, I would have thought it impossible. The fact that this became a reality and we had the pleasure of him gracing our stage for two seasons makes me very proud. I completely understand his desire to get back to his life as the singer in America's greatest-ever rock band. American Idol will miss him!” Tyler’s band, Aerosmith, is scheduled to release Music from Another Dimension!, their first album in eight years, on November 6. ~Isabelle Khoo

Thank goodness!!! He's an amazing singer and performer... but had NO business as a judge on American Idol.

He brought nothing but idiotic comments which made sense to nobody except for pot-heads! Bring in someone who can positively critique the contestants in a good and coherent manner.

Tyler's comments to every contestant: "I love your outfit, you're beautiful and you sing beautifully!"

This is good news for everyone. Get someone who can actually judge. And I don't mean Demi Lovato or Britney Spears or any other Disney has beens.
