Julianne Moore is amazing. Her range of acting ability is one of the best I’ve seen. So glad she is finally being recognized for her work in this film and I can’t wait to see it.

I came across this website in my search for the book, Still Alice. I like Juliana. I think she did a superb job in the role from what I could tell from the trailer. My Mom will be 91 in March, is still physically fit but has just been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Although early stage she does not appear to be aware of her deficits. She used to be a very vibrant social person but she has become disinterested in most social activities. This is very difficult for family to experience, so sad.
I would love to win the book and the passes. Thanks for the opportunity.
    Sincerely,
    Colleen Ionson

Of the four cast-members listed, Julianne Moore would have to be my favorite by quite a stretch. Sure, I had the hard crush on Mr. Baldwin in the 80’s, and loved him in “30 Rock,” he killed it in “Glen Gary Glen Ross,” BUT Ms. Moore has ripped her heart open on screen more than once – in my opinion her tour de force was “Magnolia,” however, it is hard to choose between roles like Amber Waves in “Boogie Nights,” the lost housewife in “Far From Heaven,” and the saving grace of “Hannibal.” She puts it all out there, leaves herself vulnerable and open, and allows us to believe we have really glimpsed inside the soul of her characters. I always want to leap from my seat to wrap my arms around her and protect her, somehow. What she does takes incredible guts. For these reasons and many more I can’t wait to see “Still Alice.”

The book was wonderfull. My husband died from early onset Alzheimer’s , died fro the disease St 62. Can’t wait to see the movie.

  5. Linda • January 13, 2015 @ 4:18 PM

One one my favourite actresses Julianne Moore tackles a tough role but handles it with elegance and certainty. Looking forward to seeing the full film. Will it be coming to Calgary? My mom passed this past August from this terrible disease.

  6. Linda • January 13, 2015 @ 4:22 PM

PS … started reading the book and got halfway through when mom passed. Just finished it before Christmas. Amazing insight to how mom would have been seeing things.

  7. Debra F • January 13, 2015 @ 4:35 PM

  10. Melissa • January 13, 2015 @ 8:03 PM

I am in awe of Julianne but I do love Kristen Stewart a lot. As a somewhat shy and awkward girl myself, Kristen is extremely relatable and makes me feel a little bit more okay with who I am because she rocks it. She is never apologetic about who she is and you can see her passion for acting and the things she loves clearly. As she gets older she’ll become even more of a force to be reckoned with.

  11. Sandra • January 13, 2015 @ 9:11 PM

I read the book before i heard that the movie was being made, and I think Julianne Moore did a wonderful job of bringing this book to the big screen. Her understanding of this diseases prior to making the film really shows and i think it’s great that she is receiving recognition for her work. However, I have always been a fan of Kristen Stewart as i have seen all her movies and i think she did a great job with her role as Lydia.

I just started reading the book. It scares the crap out of me.
Alzheimers disease is horrid, nevermind early onset.
I love the idea of Julianne Moore playing Alice and she will be riveting in this movie. The other leads will be great as well. Looking forward to it but bringing my Kleenex.

  40. christina • January 14, 2015 @ 2:12 PM

I loved this book when I read it a few years ago and was very happy they were going to bring it to the scene. My relief when I discovered Julianne Moore as the lead character was instantanious: she will be perfect for this role and so compelling. Her acting really fails to move me and she is most effective in her role compared to the rest of the listed castmates. Can’t wait for it’s release- the trailer is wonderful.

  41. Patrick Tham • January 14, 2015 @ 2:35 PM

My Dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer back in 2010 and even though his condition is stable now, it’s been a challenge for the family. Particularly for my Mum who is his primary caregiver at home. I read the book a few years back and subsequent to that, I had an opportunity to meet the author Lisa Genova who was very nice and even autographed a copy of Still Alice for Mum & Dad. Julianne Moore is an amazing actress and I would love to see her in the movie. Still Alice is a powerful story about despair & hope that needs to be told and shared with everyone!

  51. Natalie • January 14, 2015 @ 3:47 PM

  52. Susan Mook • January 14, 2015 @ 3:53 PM

I look forward to seeing Kirsten Stewart in this remake of the book Still Alice. The character she plays is just so very interesting – and deals with so much in this story. I’d love to meet/see all the 4 leads, but Kirsten Stewart is on the top of the list for me.

It is a great cast, I like them all, but the one who stands out to me is Kate Bosworth. Feels like it has been awhile since I have seen her in a movie and really look forward to see her.

I missed Still Alice when it premiered at TIFF, but I do remember the positive buzz that was going around about the movie and Moore’s performance. Now that she has won a Golden Globe for her portrayal of Alice, I’m even more excited to catch Julianne in what is most certainly another career-defining role for her.
