Suicide Squad will be filmed in Toronto

Will-Smith-creditSome of Hollywood’s biggest stars will soon be heading to Toronto to shoot the highly-anticipated Suicide Squad. Warner Bros. officially announced the star-studded cast Tuesday night, which includes Will Smith, Jared Leto and Tom Hardy.

Casting rumors have been spreading for months about the much-hyped film, especially around Jared Leto as the Joker and The Wolf of Wall Street‘s Margot Robbie as his sidekick Harley Quinn. Last night’s announcement confirmed the rumors and included some major surprises including Will Smith as Deadshot and Tom Hardy as the group’s leader, Rick Flagg. Cara Delevingne and Jai Courtney are also set to star in the film as Enchantress and Boomerang. Fury director David Ayer will be taking on the project. “We look forward to seeing this terrific ensemble, under Ayer’s amazing guidance, give new meaning to what it means to be a villain and what it means to be a hero,” Warner Bros. President Greg Silverman said in a statement.

Jesse Eisenberg, who will portray Lex Luthor in the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, is also rumored to appear as Superman’s infamous nemesis, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Filming will begin in April and is set to wrap in September. ~Kelly Townsend
