The Dark Knight Rises Paris premiere has been cancelled after the tragic shooting in Colorado early Friday morning. During the midnight screening of the film at an Aurora theater, a gunman set off a tear gas bomb and opened fire at the audience, killing 12 and injuring over 50 people. The shooter, identified as 24-year-old James Holmes, was wearing a bulletproof vest and carried a rifle, handgun and knife. In the wake of this tragedy, Warner Bros. cancelled the Paris premiere of the film, which was to take place Friday evening. Director Christopher Nolan and some of the main cast -- Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, and Morgan Freeman -- were scheduled to attend. The studio has also cancelled all media interviews and promotional appearances with the cast, despite the fact the film is heading into its opening weekend. ~Isabelle Khoo

It's really disappointing to see that the actions of one psychopath has instilled fear into people to the point of an amazing movie not being celebrated.
I think cancelling the premiere gives credence to this sick individual's actions in his own head; it's almost like he wins.
I say go on with the premiere and beef up security.
