The Muppets stars Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog have officially been added to the list of presenters for the 84th Annual Academy Awards on February 26, 2012 at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood. Their film has been nominated in the Music category for Best Original Song, however, Miss Piggy initially suggested that she wouldn’t attend the ceremony because of the Academy not acknowledging animal actors. “It’s wonderful to be nominated in the best song category, even if it wasn’t a song I sang,” she told reporters. “As for going to the Oscars, it’s hard to feel right about going to an event like that where you’re not really welcome. For some reason, the Academy has refused to recognize pigs as actors.” But it seems she’s set her pride aside — she and her amphibian co-star will be joining a long string of A-list stars for Sunday’s show.

This is the only reason I’ll be watching the Oscars.
I will NEVER be able to accept the Muppets as real-life things. They’re puppets and they always will be. It’s one thing to recgonize the guy who brings them to life but completely ridiculous to expect people tot reat them like real people.
