The Possession tops long-weekend box office

Premiering this weekend in the number one spot and earning $17.7 million was the new thriller The Possession. Tribute.ca users gave the film 3.5 stars. Gaining 4.1 stars from Tribute.ca users was the second place film Lawless, starring Tom Hardy and Shia LaBeouf, which grossed $9.7 million in its debut weekend. Still going strong and nabbing the third place spot after falling from its previous first place finish was action flick The Expendables 2, adding $8.8 million to its total, with Tribute.ca users still giving the film great reviews and 4.2 stars. Finishing out the top five were last week’s other top two finishers, The Bourne Legacy with $7.2 million and 3.9 stars from Tribute.ca users and ParaNorman with $6.6 million and 3.9 stars. ~Morgan Bates
