The Wild Things editionsDave Eggers, who co-wrote the screenplay for the highly anticipated film Where the Wild Things Are, has written a novel loosely based on the film script and on the original storybook by Maurice Sendak. Called The Wild Things, the book has been released in standard hardcover, although you may want to get the deluxe fur-covered edition. The 300-page novel goes into more detail than the original 48-page children’s illustrated book, giving description to exactly what mischief the main character, Max, gets into. It honors the original source material and will give older kids who’ve grown beyond simple picture books something to sink their teeth into.
