gethardIf you’re wondering what’s out in theatres this weekend, you’ve come to the right place. Here’s your rundown of this weekend’s box office releases.

James King (Will Ferrell) is a hedge fund manager wrongfully convicted of tax evasion in the comedy Get Hard. He turns to Darnell Lewis (Kevin Hart), a man who he thinks has served hard time, to help him prepare for his 10-year stint in San Quentin. The problem? The aliens have landed in the family comedy Home, also available in 3D. An alien race named Boov invades Earth in an attempt to escape their mortal enemy and make Earth their new home. The Boovs begin relocating the humans, but a resourceful young girl named Tip (voiced by Rihanna) avoids capture and embarks on a journey with a banished Boov named Oh (voiced by Jim Parsons). For all you horror lovers, It Follows makes it debut in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Ottawa and Halifax. After an odd, yet seemingly innocent sexual encounter, 19-year-old Jay (Maika Monroe) becomes haunted by hellish visions and an inescapable feeling that someone — or something — is watching her. Opening in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver is the drama Boychoir. Stet (Garrett Wareing) is a troublesome, yet talented, 11-year-old Texan who is sent to an East Coast musical boarding school after the death of his mother. Despite Stet’s angry nature, Choirmaster Carvelle (Dustin Hoffman) sees potential in him and pushes him to realize the creative talent he possesses. For showtimes in your city, click here.

Another film opening in Toronto and Vancouver is The Riot Club. The good-natured and politically left Miles (Max Irons), and the spoiled, politically right Alistair (Sam Claflin) are first-year students at Oxford. Soon enough, they’re invited to join The Riot Club, a secret society where privileged young men can get away with anything. When the members throw a party and get drunk, things get out of hand. Premiering in Toronto and Montreal is the Hungarian drama White God. When 13-year-old Lili is forced to give up her dog, Hagen, because he’s a mixed breed, the pair embark on a dangerous mission to get back to each other. Debuting in Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Victoria and Calgary is the thriller October Gale. A recently widowed doctor (Patricia Clarkson) comes across a wounded man who washed up on shore at her secluded cottage. For showtimes in your city, click here.

Also opening in Toronto is the Italian drama, The Wonders (Le Meraviglie). Gelsomina is the eldest daughter of her beekeeper parents who live in isolation. She signs the family up to participate in a reality show that will be filming in the area, but her father is an idealist who tries to keep the modern world far away from his family.
