TIFF brings James Bond to Toronto

In honor of the British spy’s 50th anniversary, the TIFF Bell Lightbox is presenting a new exhibit, “Designing 007:50 Years of Bond Style,” which will look at how James Bond has influenced pop culture over the years. The exhibition, which originally started in London, will display props, recreated sets, costumes, gadgets and photos from the famous movie franchise. Some notable items will include the overcoat Sean Connery wore in the first film Dr. No, the classic steel teeth from the villain Jaws in The Spy Who Loved Me, the attache case that was given to Bond in From Russia With Love and the poker table from Casino Royale. The exhibit will be on display on the main-floor gallery of the Lightbox from October 26, 2012 to January 20, 2013. The Bond franchise is the longest running in film history, with 23 films made since 1962. The next film to join the pack is Skyfall, starring Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes and Judi Dench.
