Tom Cruise, following Robert Downey Jr.'s example, visited Japan and China this week to promote his new film Oblivion. Although it's already out in North America, the film just premiered in the two Asian countries over the past few days. Among stops on his trip, Cruise surprised tourists and fans alike when he visited the Great Wall of China yesterday. The easygoing actor posed for pictures and signed autographs for fans at the ancient landmark. At one point, he even sprinted along the Wall with photographers for a little fun. Cruise's trip was planned on short notice and demonstrates the growing importance of the Chinese market, especially to the movie industry. Cruise is well-liked in Japan and China and all involved are probably hoping that the movie does well in both countries despite the box office dominance of Iron Man 3. Cruise also recently signed on to play Ethan Hunt again in a fifth Mission: Impossible film. You can see the 5o-year-old Cruise, still in fine action-hero form, in Oblivion, currently in theaters. ~ Cassie Jasinski

Cruise loves his fans genuinely, no matter where they are. Seems like a good guy. Who cares about his Scientology beliefs.

FYI Oblivion was actually a pretty good flick too.
